Dan Brown's "DaVinci Code" vs. "Angels and Demons"

Dan Brown's "DaVinci Code" vs. "Angels and Demons" I thought the "DaVinci Code" was an exceptional book. It kept me enthralled in the plot the entire time I read it. I found the architectural stuff wonderful and the opinions of Dan Brown thrown throughout the story comical in that it tries to bash religion (Catholicism specifically).

I thought that the adventure and the plot for the story was a good one and wonderfully created. Dan Brown in my opinion, has an imaginative and creative mind. When he thinks of these ideas, he sure knows how to express them and write them in good format. I semi-saddened in that it didn't at least match up to "Angels and Demons", the prequel to this book. I figured it would be about the same and my expectations were semi-high, considering "Angels and Demons", to me anyway, was an extraordinary book.

The negatives I found in the book was first and foremost his ways in bashing Catholicism and other religions. I think that is in a way kind of wrong, in dealing with the area of morality, but yes, people including authors have freedom of speech so he didn't do something totally wrong according to law.

The next negative I found was that overall the story was more cryptic rather than fully of suspenseful adventure, as in "Angels and Demons". I will say that the movie "DaVinci Code" was for the most part estranged from the ideas of the book version. It did indeed have some similarities, but in my view, did not follow the book as it should have, or as closely, no less.

Dan Brown is a great author and to most just "throws ideas and facts/opinions together". I can see where those people are coming from, but that is his style. So if you don't like it, of course that's fine, but really he does it intentionally. So when you realize that factor, Brown is a pretty good writer.

I do encourage people to witness and feel what I am saying by picking up this two book series and reading both "Angels and Demons" and "DaVinci Code". This way you can fully understand what I am conveying in this article.
