The Nature Of Jade

The Nature Of Jade The book is about a girl who has a problem. She has major anxiety. It all starts with thoughts of lost and then she becomes dizzy and it's hard to breath. She finds it calming to watch the elephants from the local zoo. That's why she keeps the live webcam that shoots directly to the elephant's indoor and outdoor areas.

One night she's just lying in bed watching the camera when she spots a red jacket. Normally she wouldn't notice this type of thing, only this boy seems wary in so many ways. He carries a baby on his back, and this brings up questions of his past in her mind. Somehow, Jade DeLuna knows that she will grow to be apart of this boy's life.

The boy breaks all the normal patterns of normal zoo tourists. He comes back everyday, and when he can't make it during the day time he breaks in at night. Jade comes to find this addictive, and finally she decides to make her move, only the red jacket boy doesn't show up. He doesn't show up for at least a month.

While Jade is waiting the zoo keeper offers her a job cleaning up after the elephants. She agrees, and a few weeks later she sees the boy. She sees his baby, says hi, and the baby screams in her face. She doesn't know what to do, and strangely enough, the boy comforts her.

She learns his name is Sebastian and they start to spend alot of time together. She slowly falls in love with the safety he brings to her life. She slowly forgets about her anxiety. Then Sebastian's little world falls apart when she finds out that he's been lying about his baby's mother.

Jade is shocked and mortified but she can't bring herself to hate him for lying to her. A few days later the worst thing imaginable happens. Jade's mom finds out about her seeing Sebastian. Jade spills everything, and her mom makes one annymous phone call to take everything away.
