Just Listen

Just Listen A girl. A great social life. Model looks. Confidence. Nothing can go wrong, right? Wrong. Annabel Greene is in for the biggest and longest summer in her life. This teenage fiction book teaches people to open up to other people and speak the truth.

Annabel hides the truth. She pretends everything is okay. But it's not. When her "best friend" accuses her of something she never did, her social life collapses. She is left friendless. Her family is falling apart. Not only is Annabel upset, but her sister is experiencing eating disorders. And she can't even admit to it. To add to this list of problems, Annabel doesn’t even like modeling. Her mum pressures her into making that decision. But when she befriends Owen Armstrong, he won’t let her hide away. He’s obsessed with music and runs his own local radio station. Owen doesn’t lie. He can’t lie. He speaks the truth. Annabel feels herself when she is with him. Owen is determined to help her forget what happened and move on. He teaches Annabel to appreciate life and listen.

This book teaches you to be open to yourself and other people as well. It shows how looks and appearances can deceive. It is a great way for teenagers to learn about themselves and other people whilst reading the book.

I recommend this book to teenagers who enjoy having a good read. The emotional difficulties expressed in this story make the book a gripping tale to read.
