A Darkness At Sethanon

A Darkness At Sethanon The final conflict between Arutha and the evil Murmandamus approaches, faking his own death, Arutha accompanied by Martin, Roald, Baru, Laurie, Jimmy and Locklear head north to end the struggle with Murmandamus who is marshalling a vast army to invade the Kingdom, his target? The small Kingdom city of Sethanon. Why? To gain control of the lifestone, so as to resurrect the Valheru Lords who would rid Midkemia of all life and return to the times of chaos. Who can stop him? Old friends Pug and Tomas.

As the battle in the Kingdom heats up Arutha is forced to make an alliance with a traitor to his brother, Martin finds love in the woman soldier Brianna and Locklear discovers a taste for women and favours in the bedroom whilst he’s forced to grow up fast.

Pug and Tomas set out on a perilous journey to the edge of the universe as they track down Macros the Black on the back of a dragon. Experiencing the mind of a mad child, the halls of the dead and a deadly trap the pair, along with the powerless sorcerer journey to Sethanon where Arutha faces Murmandamus and Toms faces one of the fallen Valheru.

As a finale to the first trilogy of the Riftwar cycle, A Darkness At Sethanon really does the trilogy justice, though the amount of sex towards the end of the story takes away from the book in my opinion as it takes away the genuine feelings behind some of the relationships.
