hmmm, i am a twilight fan but idk if i'll ever read this. I'd rather Stephanie had finished Midnight Sun honestly. I never cared about Bree, and i totally forgot about her until this thing came up again.

I don't think she's a good writer at all. It's not really necessary to use seventeen adjectives just to describe one thing and mention Edward's eyes 254 times in one book. Her characters are always flat and lack personality. Twilight was just plain boring.

I read the first few chapters of this new book while in the book store the other day and it didn't surprise me; it was awful. I wasn't expecting much to begin with, in any case, but it was just boring and completely uninteresting. I feel that this "novella" was a complete was of tree and totally unnecessary--just like Breaking Dawn.

On another note, I'm glad SMeyer is donating to charity.

To whose who are saying she is being cheap by only donating a dollar that's really rude. In the UK it sold about 79 copies per minute!!!! 79 x 60 is 4740 an hour. How much did u donate?

FYI, for those planning to actually read the book, don't look at my comment cause I spoil the whole damn thing.

I got it on my Aluratek as an eBook, and I read it with an open mind. That being said, I thought it was pretty decent for a Stephanie Meyer book. Of course, she throws in a love story between Bree and Diego (the second in command) and you see that there was an opportunity for Bree to escape. Bree definitely does seem like she has much more of a backbone that Bella, and she acts the way a newborn is SUPPOSED to act. Not all zen and controlled and I-can-hunt-in-a-cocktail-dress, but more confused and thirsty and the monster she should be. You find out that Riley was lying to all the newborns (for instance, he told them they would burn in the sun), which was the only reason they followed him, and they were terrified of Victoria. Overall, I give it a 3 stars out of 5, but I'll up it to 4 out of 5 if Stephanie promises this is the last book EVER with anything to do with Twilight.
And really Stephanie, you cheap-ass? You're only donating a dollar a book? You make me sick, I'm glad I got the online version.

I don't like Twilight and it has been a long time since I've liked it. I read the Life of Bree Tanner because I was slightly curious as to what the hell was going on. Then after reading it I realized it was another way for Meyer to jump on the money train.
I think I hated it more than Breaking Dawn.
And the reason I think its just more money train time (even though it can be read for free online) is because she didn't HAVE to publish it as a book. She could just leave it for free online but instead she published it because anyone whose obsessed with Twilight which is like 2 million people are going to buy it just for the soul reason of having more Twilight memorabilia.
    :/
This story is just as pointless as the Midnight Sun thing was going to be.

To those who think Stehanie is a good writer. Go read more books. She is NOT a good author. A teenaged boy could and HAS written much better books than she has. [Eragon for anyone who is wondering what I'm referring to].

Sure, people are alled to have different tastes. But Twilight, what I've read is just...boring...

    Good article though.

Stephenie Meyer is, for me, a really good writer. I loved Twilight back when it was still a book, not yet turned into a movie, and when few other people still know about it. Now it's just plain annoying.
I don't think buying this book is worth it. She should stop revolving her stories around Twilight and create new ideas.

Stephenie Meyer has came up with some pretty good plots. The first Twilight book I fell in love with two years ago, but then as my writing skills grew and I attempted to reread the story, it failed me.

Dear people who think Stephanie Meyer is a good writer,

Read some real literature. Or at least read any book where the majority of the "plot" ISN'T the author describing the love interest's beauty.

    Thank you,
    Emily

Stephanie is a good writer... in my opinion.
I read alot of stories on here and I have seen people with great stories and similar writing styles. Stephanie seems to me an inspiration to mibbians... if she can get her stories published then there is hope for us.
She has also given rise to many authors who were previously unknown or lacked in reputation. Some of these athours also have stories that I can imagine started on a similar level to us mibbians...
and as for the money... ptsh... I got my copy for £3.99 because I preordered. and I also got another book for £2. Tbh... good or bad I don't care... it wasn't that much money... I got 2 books for £6 when both should have added to around £23. Bargin..

I'm reading it at the moment. I'm about halfway in, and it's not so bad, though I do find the writing a bit lacking. I enjoy the story, though. I like that Stephenie Meyer writes from the perspectives of different characters, though it'd probably have been better to contain all the separate characters' stories within the one novel by using multiple points of view. I guess that would've benefitted her in the fact that she wouldn't be seen as "milking the Twilight cash cow" as the whole story would be in one piece and she'd make less money out of it. Ah, well.

But if she enjoys writing these stories, or if her editor is pushing her to write more, it's no skin off my back. She can do what she likes.

At least we're forewarned that the ending isn't ridiculously/almost stupidly happy like that in Breaking Dawn.

    I agree with Midnight Ruby.
Writers write books. Maybe it's her agent that's telling her to publish more Twilight stuff, or her publisher. It IS her creation, and would you walk up to her face and say, "You're not a very good writer."? Someone who's written books that made the New York Times Bestseller list? Probably not. The book reaches the standard that Twilight and The Host do.

Wow I guess the new cool thing is too hate Twilight. Say what you will Stephenie Meyer is a good writer. And who are you to tell her she can't do what she loves. And I doubt money was the biggest factor in writing this book. Which I had never even heard of before this point. So clearly this book wasn't something that she was using to "milk the cash cow"

Actually the book can be read for free online so... it doesn't seem to me like cash is the most important factor.

I remember seeing an advert for this at a bookstore. I came across the notice loduly stating "Calling all Twilight fans" while buying an Armistead Maupin book, so I turned to my friend and exclaimed, "Oh. My. God! I just, like, have to buy it and put it under my poster of Taylor Lautner naked!"

The two teenage girls behind the counter then burst out laughing.

It's nice to know there are others in this world who agree the Twilight hype is killing teenage minds.

This book sounds clichéd of the new "Dark romance" stereotype, and I do not plan to waste fifteen pounds on it.

I'd also like to point out that whether it fits into the category of "novella" or not, why not just go ahead and call it a novel?
