Biting in Plain Site

Biting in Plain Site Bite is a book consisting of five short stories. Biting in Plain Site by MaryJanice Davidson is the third short story in Bite.

Seeing the well-known authors Laurell K. Hamilton and Charlain Harris, I decided to sit down and read this book. I was fairly satisfied with the first two short stories. Upon reading Biting in Plain Site, I was soon exasperated.

"This story combines humor and a good plotline to make for a wonderful short story." This is one of the good reviews about Biting in Plain Site that I most certainly disagree with. The plot was undoubtedly maddening. The further I read into the short story, the more I wanted to rip my hair out. It made me sick to my stomach to read this.

This is the first story I have ever read by MaryJanice Davidson, and I can say that I am beyond displeased by her writing. The plot, the characters, the description were all dreadful. Her writing is more like a fifteen year old girl’s journal and/or diary, than to become a published piece. Nevertheless, it was in fact published, among four other vampire short stories.

Her characters were very childlike. Her writing is also similar to the way her characters are portrayed, so much that I must admit; I was even slightly confused by when the characters were actually speaking as to when she was describing something, even with the identifiable quotation marks.

There isn't much I can say that I like about this book. Everything just seemed very poorly thought out. I was so angered by this book that I wanted to rip the pages out and hurl the book at the wall. The short story, along with the rest of the book remains unfinished and on my shelf.

I would most definitely not recommend this book to anyone if they even considered to read it. It most definitely is not worth the money or however much time it will take to read the book.
