Mortal Kombat: The Series That Has Everything

Mortal Kombat: The Series That Has Everything "What's Mortal Kombat?" you ask? Well, I'll tell you: it's the most amazing game I've ever allowed my two hands to play. If you like blood, violence, and an insane twist in a great plot, this game is the next game you should buy. Although the first four- five games are hard to get, one of the most recent ones are the only ones you should concern yourself with, unless you're a hardcore fan.

"I...I'm still not sure what it is," you say. Let me fill you in a little.

'Mortal Kombat ' was the first in the series to come out. It came out in arcades everywhere in 1992. The only characters you could play at the time was Lui Kang, Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage, Raiden, Scorpion, Sonya, and Kano.

Lui Kang was the main protagonist in Mortal Kombat. He has that classic Chinese Shaolin monk feel to him. He was pretty freaking awesome. His trademark, and probably most memorable fighting move was his bicycle kick, where'd he'd kick you rapidly, while in the air, much like riding a bicycle on your opponent's chest, although his kick would most likely hurt more. Lui Kang became so popular, he later came out with his own spin-off game, called 'Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks", with his Shaolin partner, Kung Lao. Unfortunately for anyone who liked Lui Kang, he was murdered by Shang Tsung later in the series. An up side to that was he came back in 'MK: Deception' as a zombie, making him even more made of amazingness than ever before.

One of Lui Kang's buddies (or so portrayed in the first Mortal Kombat movie) was Johnny Cage, an American actor who was also pretty good at martial arts. Although he's a formidable opponent, his role in the game is more like comic relief than a serious fighter. People don't take Johnny seriously, and they shouldn't! He's more of that "Hey, man, how's it going? The shades? Yeah, I bought them yesterday!"kind of guy than that " My family was killed by my enemy, leaving me spiraling down a pit of despair" guy. (Not that I'm saying that kind of guy sucks. Har har har...) To show his humorous side, one of Johnny's famous attacks is his "Split Punch" where he does a split and punches the opponent in the groin. (Ow! Is it bleeding? No...But ow, though!)

Sonya Blade is Johnny's implied love interest in the movie and comic. She's the first female characters to be in Mortal Kombat and was pretty bad-ass. Sonya is also a member of the United States Special Forces unit and not to mention the Outer World Investigation Agency. Ms. Blade here is a fierce character, setting a great example of women everywhere. She is the icon of all women who can kick major ass. Sonya is prideful and headstrong but deep down, she cares for her friends. That means if you mess with one of her comrades, be prepared to die a horrible death featuring rapid kicks and punches to your face. You'd be sure to wet yourself in the middle of a fight with her. Sonya is most known for her reacurring fatality , "Kiss of Death". All you guys out there are probably thinking, "Hey, I'd love to die that way!" No, you wouldn't! Here's what happens: she blows you a kiss, with that trail of purple mist coming at you, but as soon as that thing touches you, it can either crush you, leaving behind bones and blood (as in MK3), slices you in half, (as in MK4) or makes you choke and vomit out your own organs, blood and such ( as in Mk Deadly Alliance).

Let's talk about Sub-Zero, shall we? Sub-Zero is the personification of "cool". He's that honorable warrior that everyone would love to fight alongside with. But wait, what's this? There are two Sub-Zero's?

In the first game, there are two Sub-Zero's. The first one was killed by Scorpion.. The younger Sub-Zero took over as the new Sub-Zero for the rest of the series, whereas the older Sub-Zero became Noob Saibot (who became partners with Smoke).

But the new Sub-Zero was awesome. His cryomancer arms and his heritage gave him the ability to control ice
