I know this is a complete and total late comment, but I felt the need to put my input on this article. I don't believe that the movie was anywhere as close to being as a good as the book was. I read the book a few weeks before the movie came out. I decided, just to check things out, to go see the movie with a few of my friends. I noticed that, like you said, a lot of things were changed.

It bugged me that the meadow scene was changed and I hated how Bella found out about Edward in the movie. I also think that the director made the characters unlike those in the book. When I pictured Bella, I didn't think of Kristen Stewart. In my mind, Kristen Stewart played the role awkwardly. She made me think that the movie was supposed to be depressing like it was. And the characters themselves never seemed like they were in the book. I know this in a minor detail, but in the book, I'm pretty sure that Esme was blond and not a brunette.

Don't get me wrong though, I loved both the movie and the book. I just think that the book was definitely better. Then again, that's my opinion and that's how it's going to remain. As for New Moon, I'm a little anxious to see the movie. With Dakota Fanning in it and all, it doesn't seem like it's going to be such a good movie. I don't know, we'll just have to find out in November, won't we?

when i read the book -about 2 to 3 mounths before i herd that they were making a movie of it- pictured bella as a younger version of christina ricci. and -im not sure if i was ment to or not- but in the book i pick-up that bella is a normal teen....feeling the same as everyone else. but in the movie everyone is so depressing!

and for those of you who just left comments without reading the article.....the article is about how much better the book is! not how much better the movie is! i could pick that up just from reading the comments

I still like the movie more.
There are only a few things I didn't like. The meadow scene for one. They fucked that up. And I hate how Bella found how he was a vampire. That's not even close to how it happened.

I don't like the Director either. Catherine, or whatever her name is.

I totally agree with you. The book was much better than the movie, but I stil very much enjoyed the movie.

I think that New Moon isn't going to be that good. Most teenagers come to see it because of Rob Pattinson. He's not in the story for the entire book, except for the first two chapters, and the last two chapters. Very depressing.

Also, Dakota Fanning got the part for Jane, which whom is an ice cold bitch, which Dakota Fanning obviously is not. Just look at her past movies. You might just have to be grateful for Twilight. But, you never know, I might be wrong...

I'm sorry, but I'm not even reading the article.
I would only like to say that the book is
clearly better than the movie, because
that is how it is 99% of the time. Twilight
was a very low-budget movie with lots
of melodrama. Don't get me wrong,
I liked the movie, but you can't exactly
compare it to the books. Just saying.

You can't compare the movie to the book. They are both brilliant and funny in different ways. OMG through the whole movie I was cracking up when Charlie always had his gun when he was talking about Edward. It totally reminded me of my dad.

I also thought that it was quite funny that Jasper (the hot Jackson Rathbone) looked completly schitzo. His hair was a beautiful kind of crazy and he wasn't comfortable around humans which is probably true in the book.

I loved all the actors, especially the one for Rosalie. She was brilliant and played her part flawlessly.

Yes, there are alot of people who would say the book was better than the movie, but i think they are about equal. The only thing though was that Jasper just kinda stood in the background awkwardly and didn't really say anything... and that kinda bugged me...
