Al Diablo Con Los Guapos

Al Diablo Con Los Guapos Al Diablo Con Los Guapos (To Hell With Handsome Men or Down with the Beautiful) is a soap opera that airs on the Mexican channels, Televisa and Univision every weeknight. The soap opera starts with an orphan by the name of Milagros a.k.a. Mili-gol, getting a job as a maid and moves into the high powered house that belonged to Regina Belmonte- the owner of the Belmonte family business. Regina soon start to take a liking to Milagros and her high spirited attitude. Milagros was that spark missing in her world. She then thinks of her as the grand-child that she always missed. Little did Regina know that Milagros was her real grand-daughter of a relationship that her son, Constancio Belmonte, had had with a Milagros’ mother, Rosario. Unfortunately, Milagros never meets her mother because she had passed away when she gave birth to her.

Alejandro Belmonte was at first a womanizer, moving from one girl to the next in matter of a days, until he met Carlitos (Milagros’ alter-ego). Alejandro soon realizes that Carlitos is really Milagros and immediately falls head over heals for her. Luciana, Alejandro’s mother and Constancio’s wife, does not approve of the relationship between him and Milagros and does everything in her power to keep them apart. She did not approve because when Rosario was a maid at the Belmonte residence, she had an affair with Luciana’s husband and resulted with a unplanned pregnancy. Rosario was soon after kicked out into the streets, where she ends up in the convent that Milagros has been raised in the past 18 years.

This soap opera runs deep into your bones and exposes the lengths powerful, rich families would go to take each other out of the competition; at times paying each other to cut each other out. Not even love is a big enough concern. Money was all that mattered. Although, this “novela” is full of heartache and grief, it’s also extremely amusing with Milagros strong attitude and frankness, along with the other maids and friends, Gloria, Lina, and other eccentric characters.

You must be warn that this soap opera runs in Spanish and only in Spanish. No sign of an English version has been announced.
