Raya had just turned sixteen when her parents were ***ed. She was born on May 17th, 1991 and has no siblings. She's only 5'3" but used to run cross country, so she's got a good build on her. She knows how to stand up for herself, but can be a little backwards sometimes. She looks like you'd expect a typical Russian to, pale skin with dark hair and dark eyes.

Stefani is Raya's cousin and is an extremely jealous person. Even though Raya has had so many tragedies already, Stefani wishes that she was her cousin. She can't understand what makes Raya so special. Stefani is very self-centered, but is very nice to everyone except for Raya. The two are both seniors at their private school and though Stefani is more popular than her cousin, there's not question that Raya is better liked.

Jeffrey is the older of the twins and doesn't let Jeremy forget it. Jeffrey is very into sports and isn't afraid to speak his mind. He's very well liked by nearly everyone he meets but has a problem settling down with just one girl. He is often called a 'player' but that never seems to bother him.

James, or Uncle Jim, is Raya's uncle. Though the two aren't related by blood, he considers Raya to be 'one of his own'. Jim is a very generous man and works hard to keep his family happy. He is an easy going person and easy to get along with but has no problem taking charge when he needs to.

Lara disowned her sister when she ran away with her husband to America. But ten years later, she herself moved to the states and fell in love. Still angry with her sister for deserting her, though, she continued to keep the ties cut between the Markovs. If she had known the real reason for her sister's unexpected move, perhaps Raya's parents would still have been alive? This thought eats away at Lara everyday.
