Introverted and cautious. Dahlia trusts a select few. As a child she was known for her lies and despite her desire to change, she is still referred to as the 'girl who cried wolf'. She does not associate with many people and Sebastian is the first person to whom she has shown her true self to. She undoubtedly feels that he is the only person who ever appreciated her for herself and did not make rash judgements before really getting to know her.

Lucien works with Dahlia's father, he's sly and knows how to get the information he needs. Lucien enjoys the chase, testing how far he can go before the person he's interrogating will crack. He knows that there is the possibility of Sebastian Dalburn being alive and he is not willing to take that risk. Lucien will use everything within his power in order to make Dahlia crack.

Dahlia's father. Jonathan Talbot is a very secretive character, very little is known about him and he likes to keep it that way. Jonathan likes to pride his work over his family and feels that if Dahlia is hiding a fugitive then she has betrayed him. He shows very little emotion and is very rarely induced to resort to mercy. Mercy is not an option.

Dahlia's mother. Elizabeth is a woman who comes across as being very forward and rash. Elizabeth was ashamed when she discovered Dahlia's lying problem and decided to do all that she could to make her return to normal society after she shied away from it. The knowledge of someone else being in Dahlia's life excites Elizabeth as it may mean that she will become a normal girl again.

Nicholas became an intellectual as a result of his parents’ pushiness. His parents are very upper class and Nicholas despises their ability to judge people without knowing them. He completed a degree in anthropology and, through contacts he had made in university, had become a part of a revolutionary movement against the society built by the government. It was here that he met Sebastian, a journalist that wanted to take actions into his own hands. Nicholas liked Sebastian as he had similar views to himself; they became friends quickly.
