Eric "Arc" Hawkins is the mysterious yet incredible person that enters Chris's life. He hardly says much, and most know even less about him - but his role in the story makes for an incredibly intense, frustrating, confusing, painful, and happy journey for Chris and those around him.

This is the girl that Chris gave his number to in the ER waiting room. You'll really have to read the story from Chapter VII and later to find out more about her, but the term "plot twist" describes her really well. ;D Also, yes the picture is a little inaccurate to how she is described in the book, but this is the best picture I could find of a girl with a scar on her face.
