Cara is Frank's best friend from childhood, she was always with Frank. People used to make fun of them because Cara was the 'weird girl'. Everyone used to say they went out and they were in a secret relationship. This didn't help Cara in anyway she had enough problems of her own, she suffered from depression and bipolar, her parents were also on the verge of breaking up because of her. She felt like a burden to her parents and to Frank. So on her 18th birthday she killed herself.

Gerard is attending Group Therapy to help him get over his addiction to alcohol, that's where he meets Frank. He falls for Frank really quickly and can't stop thinking about him.

However three years after her death he just wants her to leave him to live his life. The therapy seemed to be working until one little secret slips and everything goes downhill.
