Rip is Kinly's son and Sei's sort-of-adoptive brother. His mother was killed by a rogue fire valkie when he was two so he doesn't remember her. He is a fun, energetic guy with a taste for mischief, often landing him in trouble. He has never thought of Sei as a little brother, but more of a very close friend. Born: Water year, 1990 Likes: Hanging with Sei; Spying on fire valkies; Coffee. Dislikes: Anything involving too much manual labour. Name meaning: Rip (riptide) means 'a stretch of turbulent water in a river or the sea caused by one current flowing into or across another current.'

He is not a valkie but his grandfather was and the gene was passed onto Rip. His wife, (Rip's mother), was killed by a rogue fire valkie when Rip was very young.
