Anthony Edward Stark is the owner of Stark Industries, a firm that his father previously founded, which he inherited after turning twenty-one. After attending a field test of one of his weapons he was captured by a terrorist group, who kept him for a few months. He escaped by building a suit of armor with another captive, Yinsen. Soon after he arrived home he became the super-hero known as Iron Man.

Kat Rivers was born in a small town in south Texas where she grew up with her father. When she was fifteen Kat started showing inhuman powers and after the men her father worked for she was captured. For the next five years she would be experimented on, her powers manifesting at an extraordinary rate. After she escaped one night she went back to her childhood house which she found was inhabited by others now. She had learned her father was ***ed by the men that had been experimenting her and vowed to get her revenge.
