Dredd is an American law enforcement officer in a violent city of the future where uniformed Judges combine the powers of police, judge, jury and executioner. Dredd and his fellow Judges are empowered to arrest, sentence, and even execute criminals on the spot. Joseph Dredd is the most famous of the elite corps of Street Judges that run Mega-City One, charged with the power not only to enforce the law, but also to instantly convict and sentence offenders – and occasionally even execute them. Dredd is armed with a "Lawgiver" pistol (programmed to recognise only his palm-print, and capable of firing six different types of ammunition), a daystick, a knife, and stun/gas grenades. His helmet obscures all of his face, except for his mouth and jaw. He rides a large "Lawmaster" motorbike, which has machineguns, a powerful laser cannon, and full artificial intelligence capable of responding to orders from the Judge and operating itself.

Like her mythical namesake Cassandra (the sister of Paris of Troy: who seduced Helen), Judge Anderson has psychic powers. In addition to being able to sense approaching danger and foresee events of the near future, as did her namesake, she also has telepathy. This allows her to read other people's minds and use mental attacks. These abilities allowed her to be a member of Mega-City One's corps of Judges as member of the Psi Division, which includes all Judges possessing psychic abilities.

Judge Andrew Grey

Judge Grey is a new Judge on the streets of Mega City One. He was given his final exam by Judge Dredd and managed to pass under his strict guidelines. Andrew has been paired with Judges Yvaine and June exclusively thus far. Despite vein new on the job he trains and acts as professional and Judge like, to make up for the fact that he has only been out on the streets for a few months.

A member of Andrew's graduating class. Despite her tendency to make overly sexual references and quips, and her tendency to find herself in a hairy spot every now and again Yvaine knows how to do her job well. She was assessed by Judge Anderson who passed her after she helped Andrew and Dredd manage to restore order during a block war. Yvaine had something mysterious happen to her during her Hotdog Run but she never told anyone, and still refuses to.

June had a lot to prove while she was at the academy. She had been found outside the city walls when she was five. Her peers dismissed her as mutant scum and she had to learn to depend on herself. Causing her to grow up with a confused way of showing any sort of emotion, causing we to have a weird look of confusion and usually whatever she is trying to show. June has been paired with Andrew to take down Kaiser Culverton. Something she believes will catapult status sky high and force respect out of her peers.
