Emmett Cullen was born as Emmett McCarty in 1915 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and is a member of the Olympic coven in Washington. He is the husband of Rosalie Hale, the adoptive son of Carlisle and Esme Cullen, the adoptive brother of Alice, Edward Cullen and Jasper Hale. After being mauled by a black bear in 1935, Emmett was rescued by Rosalie and was given a second chance at life after being turned into a vampire. Rosalie and Emmett were rarely separated after this, having fallen passionately in love. The pair were integral members of the Cullen family and participated eagerly in removing the numerous impediments it faced. Like all Cullens, Emmett is a vegetarian vampire, and has gold eyes instead of red like vampires who drink human blood. Even considering the unstoppable physical strength of vampires, Emmett is physically the strongest in the family. He attends Forks High School along with all of his other siblings.

Esme Cullen was born as Esme Anne Evenson in 1895 and is the matriarch of the Olympic coven within Washington. Esme is the wife of Doctor Carlisle Cullen and the adoptive mother of Alice, Emmett, Edward Cullen, Rosalie and Jasper Hale. In 1921, after losing her baby to lung fever Esme attempted suicide but her attempt was unsuccessful. Later, Doctor Carlisle transformed her into a vampire on her deathbed. Some time later, the pair fell in love and married, starting to build a family of like-minded vegetarian vampires around them. Esme possessed an unparalleled capacity for passionate love for those around her, which allowed the members of her adoptive family to consider her as the greatest maternal figure in their lives.

Rosalie Lillian Hale was born 1915 in Rochester, New York and is a member of the Olympic coven within Washington as she attends Forks High School. She is the partner of Emmett Cullen and the adoptive daughter of Doctor Carlisle and Esme Cullen, as well as the adoptive sister of Jasper Hale (in Forks, she and Jasper pretend to be twins), Alice, and Edward Cullen. In 1933, Rosalie was turned into a vampire by Doctor Carlisle Cullen after being raped and beaten to the brink of death by a group of drunken men. Two years later, Rosalie rescued a young man named Emmett from being mauled by a bear, and after turned him into a vampire, the two fell very deeply in love. Along with Emmett, Rosalie is an integral member of the Cullen family and fights eagerly against those who threaten their coven. She attends Forks High School with her partner Emmett and there siblings.

Nora Black was born three years before her younger and only brother Billy Black in La Push, Washington. She grew up with four siblings named Billy, Emmie, Jennie, and Connie Black. As a young adult Nora Black moved to Olympia, Washington to attend The Evergreen State College as a business major. After earning her college degree she landed dead end jobs and changed her career many times. Once she had a stable career and at the late age of 37 she decided to become a single mother. After giving birth to her daughter Dena Black in 1990 she decided to move closer to La Push so Dena could be close to her family. They ended up moving to Forks, Washington.

Jennie Black was born four years after her oldest and only brother Billy Black in La Push, Washington. She overall has four siblings named Nora, Billy, Connie, and Emmie Black. Jennie was born 10 minutes before her twin sister Connie Black and to this day they are still very difficult to differentiate. After all of the Black siblings became young adults many adventured out of La Push to begin their careers but Jennie decided to stay in La Push like her brother Billy. Within La Push Jennie owns her own nail salon and helps Billy with the tribal council of the Quileutes. Jennie never had any children of her own but has her nieces and nephews Rachel, Rebecca, Dena, Jacob Black, and Collin Littlesea.
