    Balthazar "Bat" Covens

    Gender:
    Male
    Age:
    19

Balthazar Covens is nineteen, going on a thousand years old. Bat remains youthful despite his true age, ever appearing as a young man just entering adulthood. He has lived many lives, however he remembers each and every one of them, essentially from birth. Bat's position among the Keepers of the Epochs allows him to carry memory with him from each life to the next. Bat's aristocratic looks and charm both aid and hinder him in his adventures. He leaves women of all ages, appearances, and Windows of Time breathless and abandoned, knowing even if he were to fall for them that they could not follow him where he must go. Balthazar, as the Seventh of the Keepers, holds the Key his dangerous, unnamed enemy has been searching eons for. With each new life, Balthazar's enemy comes one step closer to finding him.

  • Emmeline Whitman

    Emmeline Whitman

    Gender:
    Female
    Age:
    20

Indigo-eyed Emmeline Whitman moved to New York City in 1895 from London, England. Her family, including her father and illustrious businessman Alexander Whitman, her beautiful mother Philomena, her little sister Rowena, and her baby brother John accompanied her on the journey across the Atlantic. Emmeline is small and slender; her wide, bright, oddly-colored eyes draw attention immediately to her face, curtained by black curly hair. A faint scar above full lips indicates that life hasn't always been easy for the debutant. Boarding and finishing school did allow her to meet her best friend, Posey Timmons. Emmeline can be spoiled and snaps when she is affronted, often speaking before thinking. To the chagrin of her wealthy mother and father, Emmeline has refused every offer of marriage thrown her way. She desires marriage itself, though not to any of the high society men who would simply contribute to the bored, pampered life she is already used to. Emmeline goes beyond the call of most upper-class women and spends each week caring for the homeless female inhabitants of her city.

  • Posey Timmons

    Posey Timmons

    Gender:
    Female
    Age:
    17

Boston-born Posey Timmons is Emmeline Whitman's righthand woman. Steadfastly loyal, she is the sole caretaker of Ruth, her mentally ill mother, and her two young sisters, Lillian and Bessie. Her father, William, is often away on "business", though the family's finances have been slipping into nothingness for years. Posey is able to keep up appearances thanks to Emmeline, who provides the once-debutant (now shop girl and mother, almost) with clothing and perfumes. Posey's dress is usually rumpled, but her bubbly personality shines through all else. Quick to trust and ernest for approval, Posey constantly puts those she loves ahead of herself.
