    Oh my fuck.

I was directed to your story by ^ and it's one of the best decisions of her life sending me here. I can't really remember the last time I was moved by fiction death, but the combination of the use of words and the emotions expressed form that horrible pang in my stomach.

Mikey's emotions. Do you have any idea how much that ripped me apart? I felt so manic and happy before I read this, and don't get me wrong. Although it dampened me down a bit, that's exactly the purpose of your story and, xtyfjhg, it affected me in just the right way. I'm happy, in that sort of melancholic way, and I'm pretty sure that was you every intention so you must be doing something right =)

    I hope I haven't rambled too much.

    My fingers are trembling.
    It seemed too real.

Only four stories here have been able to make me REALLY cry.
Matters of the Heart, cowritten by me and Fish Camp.
The Echo Never Fades by horsie890
    Early Sunsets by Sardonic Grin
    and Believe by Kiss.Me.Goodbye

    All fics about Gerard dying.
    This is the fifth.

    Sheer beauty, despite the tragedy.
    Please continue.

Oh yeah. horsie owns all. XD

    Isa's right, though. It's beautiful.

I like how unrushed it is. So many people will just run through all the important stuff and ignore the minor details, but you didn't.

The article was an especially nice touch.

It was still there, by his bare feet, the edges of the thick watercolour notepaper tickling the tips of his toes. It was funny how he could notice little things like that; how it was Gerard’s yellowish, fuzzy art paper that he’d drawn countless heroes and monsters on in the past, that now bore his hurriedly scribbled goodbye to the world instead of images from his colourful imagination. Funny how he notice things like that, when there was a corpse in the middle of the room. The dead body of his best friend.

Ah, no, no, no, it's MY job to make people cry. x]
I cried, seriously. The part I quoted triggered it.
It was just... The exact thing one feels like
    when seriously affected by something.
You nailed it to the bone, Hann. Too real.

    He could see him there, eyes still open but seeing nothing;

    In Love

He just didn’t feel. ‘Gerard’s dead, Gerard’s dead, Gerard’s dead, Gerard’s dead…’ he repeated in his head. As if he was mentally slapping himself in the face. ‘Gerard’s dead. Fucker.’ The guitarist reminded himself of the good times. No more Donkey Konga at two in morning in the tour bus when they both couldn’t sleep. In fact, no more tour bus at all. No more My Chemical Romance. No more saving lives. The dream was over; and Gerard had been the one to kill it. Gerard, who was still dead on the double bed in the middle of the room. Still dead… and Frank still couldn’t feel a fucking thing.

    Just... Wow. ILY so much.
This was just... right. I can't think of a better-fitting word.
I apologize for being lame, but I'm
not in the right frame of mind to think right now. x]

    “Gerard, they’re here for you.”

    ILY.
    Perfect.

He pressed both palms flat onto the glass, looking out onto the city. Darkness was here, with only the ghost of a sunset behind the skyline of Boston. The black skyscrapers and tower blocks silhouetted on the darkest hues of indigo bled into ink red and burnt orange.

    Amazing, I repeat, amazing imagery.

The way you incorporated that flashback with Mikey's thoughts about
following his brother once more was superb. You explained something
in a non-narrative, interesting way, which actually revealed a lot.

But… who knew where Gerard was, really? Not the flesh and blood, skin and bone of him, with it’s translucent skin and mess of black hair; not that, but Gerard. The addict, the survivor, the artist, the hero, the insomniac, the leader - where was all that stuff… burnt up? Extinguished like a snuffed out candle flame? One minutes burning bright and then, the next, consumed by itself or strangled through lack of air.

Stop doing that. Cry It's bad for my mental health.

    To have and to hold,
    for better, for worse,
    'till death do us part.

He believed her. He believed her like he’d never believed Gerard. He had just… hoped. With Gerard everything was blind hope; like searching for a black flame in the darkness.

    Check above.

    Overall? You are amazing.
This is a roller-coaster of, well, sadness.
I can't get over the fact how you put that article
in the first chapter, it all seemed too real because of it.
    Shocking, actually. And amazing.
The imagery, the wording and the flow are effortless and
    smooth, just right.

The title, the layout and the summary are what drew me right in.

    In Love

I realy have no words, I'm sorry. I have no con-crit. I have no drippingly wonderful. I honestly have nothing. And it's weird cause I wrote a fic like this in which he d-died. So you would think I could find the words to...review a story like this- but no. I have nothing. I feel like Frank, completely numb, because it is too real. This could happen because we know Gerard is human, we know he has tried to kill himself before, we know he most likely has relasped. It's too real and I think that's why I am having problem reviewing. So, I am like sorry for not giving you the kind of review you want, but I honestly can't do it.

Well done. Seriously. I have to say, in this day and age, it takes a lot to shake me, but this did.
It's so excellently written, so precise. The second chapter was agony to read, it was done so well.
It feels real and concrete, which is what makes it so challenging to read, but so compelling at the same time! and look, it even inspired me to leave a decent comment.
Again, well done. Very well done.
