I agree with sunset, you did a fantastic job of making a would-be cliché something much better.

Once again, a great chapter. At first, when Ashford walked in, it almost seemed a tad cliché, but you did a good job of working around it and making it something special as it progressed. I really enjoy Mallory's character - how she represents the childlike innocence in such a harsh situation.

I loved the peak into Mr. Ashford's head for this chapter. I think it's good to pop into his head every once in a while. More diversity creates for a better story!

Your writing is astounding for a young writer. Your attention to detail is fabulous and you do a wonderful job at drawing the reader in.
What I really love about this story is the way is goes against the typical teacher-student romance stories. The characters don't dive right into the romance, and you can really feel the tension between them. I love the storyline with the mother, as well. It's realistic and adds to the story.
