I just read the last two chapters you've posted. Because I'm awful, I didn't comment on the second to last one, so therefore I will do so at this moment in time...
Patrick Kane makes me melt. Okay, seriously... he does. The way you write him is just so sweet and loveable. I love the whole Kaner storyline you've got going on. As I said at some point in time, I wanted you to develop a little thing with Kaner so that he's not the main focus of the story, but a character that likes to pop in every now and then and kind of act as a lighthearted comic relief, ya know? I adored the Kaner chapter because its so cute and fun and... yeah. :)
The latest chapter was wonderful, too. Although not completely happy, it really sums up what the playoffs and the hockey community is about. How guys can be about to play possibly their most important series of their lives and yet still out with the enemy. Loved it that you brought Richie and Carter into the story - love those guys!
I cannot wait for the following chapters. I know that reading the Cup winning and the trade is going to be extremely emotional for you to write, which means it'll be amazing. The more emotionally invested a writer is in the words they're writing, the better. You've come so far with all these characters in the three of these series, making me dread the fact that it will soon come to an end, but I know that you will write these next chapters so epically. I feel like I've been with Evelyn & Ben since the beginning, so when they come to an end, I'll most likely sob my eyes out. :(
BUT ON A BETTER NOTE, I <3 you. I <3 your writing. I <3 Evelyn & Ben & Baby Ben. So there.
I actually went back to the very very first chapter of this series to see exactly what had happened on their first day. It made me realize exactly why I fell in love with this story in the first place. I'm sorry if I don't normally comment, I'm currently swamped with college applications and essays. I'm going to be terribly sad when the Hawks win the Cup in the next few chapters because 1) they beat the Sharks... Who have failed to reach the cup after 20 years.... and 2) it's one step closer to this segment of the story ending. I really hope you do another sequal, even though it's going to be number four. I truely fell in love with the characters you produced and I would hate for it to end just because Ben was traded.
guilty as charged, I suck :S I'm sorry I loved that Mike and Jeff still wanted to catch up haha I'd love to hear some Philly stories, too, I just watched Joffrey Lupul introduce his former apartment and knock on the door to next-door neighbor grumpy-Ben hehe that was fun! :D
I had no issues reading this until I read your author's note. That's when it hit me, and I remembered that the events that took place after the Cup was won were real... And Ben is gone ): I can't believe this is almost over; I'm pretty sure I'll cry when it is... Anyway, update soon, please?! <3
