I JUST FINISHED IT. I am honestly pleasantly surprised that Jared never showed up again. I thought we'd maybe meet Zack's mom in the final chapter but I'm sorta glad we didn't at the same time. I think it's nice to just have the implication that they're going to try and have a relationship. Like I said in my last comment, this was a really sweet but also low-key read -- none of it made me want to burst into tears, basically, which was nice lmfao. I know in your author's note you said you left it open for a sequel if you ever felt like it and I assume that's never gonna happen, but honestly I think it ended perfectly and works great as a single story. I'm not sure where else you'd go with it -- it was just really pleasant getting to see Zack's growth as a person, and that now he has more family and friends than ever.

ONE THING I WAS CONFUSED ABOUT THOUGH. You mentioned in like two or three chapters that something weird was going on with Joel (I think it was Joel)... like he wasn't at school or whatever. I don't think you ever said in the story what it was? Or maybe I missed that yikes. I guess it's not super important since Joel was basically a background character but still.

So yeah! I enjoyed it. Always did have a soft spot for Zalex.

Okay, it has deadass taken me weeks to read this because I kept taking breaks but the chapters are pretty bite-sized for the most part which helps loads with my attention span lmfao. Anyway I'm on chapter 35 now so getting close to the finish! It's been a really sweet story, very... relaxed, I guess? Like some low-key 'drama' but nothing overly painful or stressful so it's quite a nice easy read, and I've enjoyed that a lot. I really want to give Zack a hug tbh. I love the family dynamic of him, his adoptive dads, his adoptive brother... it's great. I'm also loving that he's in touch with his mother again. But there's still like ten chapters to go so I imagine I might suffer some heartache yet lol.

OH LITERALLY AS I TYPED THAT I WENT BACK TO READ CHAPTER 35 AND JARED IS HERE LMAOOOOO so the heartache begins. I am fear.

I'm so proud of Zack for standing up to him though!!! I'll comment again once I finish, I'm totally fearing that that's not the last of Jared lmao.

If love there to be a sequel but the way it ended means it doesn't really new one. I feel sad finishing this, I've been reading it in and off since yesterday.

Okay, I'm pretty you wrote the forever ago but fuck it! (tehehe if you say 'but fuck it' fast it sounds like butt fuck it. hehehe that I'm laughing at my own unintended joke.) Anways this was amazing, it was a very fluffy story and I love Zalex and your writing. But I do think the ending was a bit rushed. I know it was longer than you wanted it to be, just a few more chapters would have done it I think. But I'm pretty sure I might be a bit biased, just because I loved this so much xDD

So a few days ago, I was looking around on the All Time Low slash tag and I kept on seeing Jalex(which is okay, but can get a little annoying) so I typed in Zalex and I was into it one point a long time ago so I thought 'hey, why not try another one those and see if I still like Zalex'. So I started reading this one and loved it. XD Guess I still like Zalex. And this story put me back into it. I really liked it. :)

I wish there was a sequel :(

I just read this begining to end. it is so good it makes me feel all warm inside. I know you've got other stories going on and everything, but you really should consider a sequel. yeah, great writing and I love your talent.

So this is the 5th time I've read this story.
And this is the first time the ending has made me cry.
I don't know why.
Maybe it's because it's over, or maybe because it was just so cute and kldlskghsdalghsa
But anyways. I'll probably read it a sixth time :))

was just leaving a comment to say how much i enjoyed your story! other fan fiction is usually pretty bad, but yours was nothing short of amazing. and i loved that it was something about Zack. i feel like he and Rian get left behind too much : p so, thanks. it was actually amazing to read, and it made me feel good, like, happy. so thanks for cheering me up. and i loved the ending with the pets ;)
