Sorry that it took me so long to read and comment this.

But here we go.
I don't usually enjoy reading stories with your writing style, and I really hate parenthesis. I'm not too sure why. BUT. For some really weird reason, I really liked this story. It was super cute and, maybe it's because there are little kids involved, I didn't want it to end. <3
And I can't BELIEVE that you are ending a contest entry with an unhappy ending like that.

Before I started freaking out that you wouldn't continue the story, since you finished the required contest entry-ness. But after reading the author note, it's all good.

I love the way you wrote this, Its funny and adorable with a right amount of details, that let's you paint a picture without boring your readers. Plus I like the plot, their pinky promises that they go by, almost religiously. I can't wait til you update the last third of it; I want to know how they risk their pinky promises from the past.
