Pinky Promise

Hallie Mason and Lucas Fisher have been best friends for as long as they can remember. Their mothers are best friends, so this seems reasonable. Every promise ever made between them has been sworn in and kept by the kindergartener's sacred ritual: a pinky promise. Even at the age of sixteen, they both know that when something is promised [in pinky form, no less!] it would be bad luck - no, a curse to break it.

What will happen between Hallie and Lucas when a promise made forever ago is in danger of being broken?

    "Do you think we'll be friends forever, Luke?"
  2. Chapter Two.
    “Do you, Hallie Mason, promise to be my wife, forever, until happily ever after?”
  3. Chapter Three.
    "But Luke...you...you promised. Friends forever, no matter what."
  4. Chapter Four.
    What was I going to do without him?
  5. Chapter Five.
    “Bitch,” Hallie said contemptuously. She upturned her Hawaiian Punch upon Bailee’s bottle-blonde hair as she shrieked in anger.
