Hey you should introduce another character to the story where she is similar to Ellie.
Being abandoned at an early age and started to live on her own.
She could be Ellie's best friend! XD

Possibly not the best way for her to find out but she's got to realise that history doesn't always repeat itself. Infact, if people can learn from the past - and Matt and Val have seen the destruction of the past - it doesn't. She needs some good old fashioned optimism.
