I'm this close to actually hitting something... Darn. You really are getting good at that 'pull the reader in' thing. Congratulations on that :D. Now, on to (probably) super long comment again...
First thing - Zander is not an idiot after all (quite honestly - I was starting to think of him as a... well, a sheep. I don't know why, everytime he's mentioned I can't help but think of a little silly lamb. Sorry ;D). I was half expecting him to rush downstairs when he heard the sounds, but he stayed up in the room like a smart little boy. Horror movie lesson numero uno: DO NOT approach the sound. Maybe he even managed to climb out the window, or something? Nah... With his grace, he'd be pretty... dead by now. And since I love him too much, I'm assuming that he's staying upstairs. Mhm.
Second: I'm quite... confused. It seemed like John had a plan or something in the beggining of the chapter, and next thing he's on the floor, bleeding. I know that's what would happen in reality when 3 armed guys break into your house, but still... Right now the " >.< " ilustrates my thoughts perfectly ;D.
Third.... I don't remember what the third was. So I suppose that's it for now...
Fourth: I love Sick Puppies <3. Well, as much as you can love a band after listening to one song... "Al the same" ftw ^.^

Ooooooh boy. The tension. And the reason why I love John shows in this chapter - it just feels like he can take out entire army all by himself, Chuck Norris style :D.
This was a great chapter, I could see everything happening in my head. And is it just me, or did everyone really forgot about little Zan upstairs?... Imagine what it's like for him: it's all quiet&nice, his love interest just ran of after almost kissing him, then some screaming downstairs, and then BAM! Things crash, and for some reason I imagine there being shotgun sounds. And poor boy just wanted to be closer to Zack. Sigh.
Oh, and that Jake(?)-Miranda thingie kinda worries me. I got a bad feeling the kid is involved with all the shit that's going on there, and I really don't like that. I like Jay, sure, he's a little drunken blabbermouth, but still...
I just realised that I don't really believe that it's evil people who kicked the door out. It would be too simple ;D. Maybe it's just some... out-of-season trick-or-treaters?...
Oh well, since this comment is already way longer than it should be, I might as well add that I'm facing my smiley addiction. Not adding those cuties at the end of every sentence is quite hard, but I'm managing! Only two in whole post (one for every vote for Cole, heh)! Yay!
