you did an amazing job on your story m'dear.
in truth, actions do speak louder then words, but not always.
say a parent left when you were really little, but continued to send you a card for every holiday and your birthday every year, after say 10 maybe 15 years, once you've grown up, you meet your parent...would you be mad at them still or would you accept them because they sent you all those cards?
in that case, sometimes actions don't mean as much as words do.
in a relationship though, it's the little things that show the person you really care. you get them small gifts just because, you hold on to them all through the night then wake smiling to see them next to you, every little action can say more then a thousand words, and that is the greates treasure one could give
