How to Date Alexis Brighten - Comments

First off, I would just like to say that I LOVE the idea of this, the whole pro/con list thing. Instant interest! Plus, this is completed and I hate waiting for story updates. So I could just read the whole thing right away. AWESOME. 25 chapters? No prob, Bob. I’ll just make a grilled cheese sandwich and snuggle up with my laptop.

I think I remember once being told that for every negative thing someone says about you, it takes ten positive things to counteract it. So I can imagine her distress at finding 10 cons, right there, staring her in the face.

Wow. Okay. Her friends seem like wonderful people. -_-
And I just know you’re gonna make me love Daniel by the end of this. I just know it.

Alexis is just a confuzzled teenage girl, whose thoughts just end up confusing her further. It’s funny to read, actually. How she can’t stop thinking about the cons and how they’re so right and everything. But I have to say, it kind of bugged me when she was complaining about her parents not paying attention to her and giving all their love/attention to Isaac. It’s kind of like, oh, wah wah nobody loves me. That always annoys me in stories though.

When she slapped Justin. OMG. Hallelujah. That is exactly what I would have done if I were her, and I didn’t think she would actually do it! It always makes me so happy when characters act the way I want them to. :3

I love how Daniel just pops in at random times, whenever he feels like it. Or rather, whenever you feel like making him pop in. tehehe, cute. Cocky bastard. I like how Daniel is good at the things Alexis sucks at. Spanish. Swimming. Other things… haha, I don’t know.

Hm, I think you should have informed us of Isaac’s autism a bit earlier. Obviously he had some kind of impairment, but I didn’t know what it was. I don’t know if I missed it or if you just didn’t mention it right away. And I think you could have really done a lot more with it—showed what autism was and how it affected the whole family, besides just leaving Alexis short of attention.

I CAN’T BELIEVE SHE ALMOST DROWNED. What a shocker. Seriously. I was in shock. I was not expecting that at all. And then Daniel came in and saved her. I’m not usually one for the damsel in distress thing, but SWOON! So cute. And omg. Fletcher. WHAT A CUTIE. The little trouble maker.

This is so good! I can’t believe Fletcher just left her to that creepy guy! I am disappointed in him! But then Daniel came and saved the day AGAIN. This is just too good. I can’t believe how action-packed this is. I mean, she almost died twice already, and I’m only like halfway through.

She is such a little sleuth! Spying on Fletcher and Daniel. They fought! Ah! What is going on here? OMG DANIEL WROTE THE LIST. I kind of knew all along, but then Fletcher came into the picture and confused me. But then they both wrote it? Oh! They used to be friends! It all makes sense now. Oh, how cute.

They kissed in the rain! That was beautiful. I squealed. Really, I did. It was just so wonderful and dramatic and perfect. Yesssssssssssssssssss, it only took 23 chapters. The ending was great. Ugh. So happy, I just want to squeal and puke at the same time. I wish I was a fictional character. D; I’m so sad this is over. I have fallen in like with these characters!

I wish I could have found this story back when you posted the first chapter, so I could have commented on every. Single. Chapter. :’D

OH MY GOSH I FELL IN LOVE WITH YOUR STORY!!!!!!! I spent like two hours just reading it!!!!!! You are an amazing writer!!!!!!! I loved your line....sink or swim....it was amazing....i saved the last like three chapters so i could read them over and over and over and over and over and over again because that were that good!!!!!!! keep up your awsome work

Soooo. I'm sorry it took me so long to finish reading the last two chapters! I've been haveing internet troubles at my house. Anyways, I LOVED IT! I'M SO HAPPY WITH THE ENDING! I love how you have them say their in "like" with each other! That's was soo cute! Can't wait to check out some more of your work!

Hahahah. Well, I'd like to totally disagree with the comment before me and say that I'm super glad it's Daniel. To be honest Fletcher scared me the tiniest bit by the end. Not scared OF him, per se, but more like where I see him ending up with his attitude. Like, based on that last chapter, I could imagine him and Alexis in thirty years jumping from state to state because of Fletcher's, idk, gambling and debt problems or something and Alexis would be thoroughly miserable. That's just what I saw based on his attitude. Plus it was kinda obvious that she didn't have any deep feelings for Fletcher.

Anyway, loving this, and I will be reading your next story when finals are over. (I took a break from studying to get some Alexis loving and found out that it had ended! Lol)

Oh gosh. I cannoot believe this is over. This is one of the few stories that's kept me bothered to log onto mibba. and now its gone :O But i liked the ending, it wasn't mushy and over done. It was simple and sweet.

At the same time, I'm quite sad this story has come to an end, as I really enjoyed reading this. You wouldn't possibly consider what sighnomore mentioned above, possible adding a chapter or so to wrap things up with Fletcher and the other characters?

This story was...amazing. Absolutely worth all the late nights re-reading to try to figure out what was going on. The ending was butterfly inducing. I loved it.
And to tell you the truth, I'm sad. It's over. Finished. Completed. The end.

Oh, my God. It feels like forever since I've read this story and now there's an ending?? Anyway, it's great and I love it. I am, of course, overjoyed that she's with Daniel in the end, although I did like Fletcher too. He actually really reminds me of the character Nathan on the TV show Misfits; they've both got really big speeches about fucking up and how everyone is a screw-up, but I think their personalities are quite similar too. If you haven't watched it, I'd definitely recommend it, it's fantastic. But back to your story! My only complaint, really, is that I would've liked more closure to the story, I guess you would say. Another chapter before the epilogue, just finishing the whole thing up and dealing with like the ~emotions and other people would've been great. The actual epilogue could have been a nice, fluffy thing to wrap it up. I just would really like to see how Fletcher's doing, and Isaac and Alexis' friends... Just a little glimpse of them would've been nice. Overall though, this was a lovely story and I love your writing! :)

Daniel does try to be perfect and he's always so ready to throw Fletcher under the bus about every single thing. Everyone needs a Fletch in their life.
I know there are a lot of people that are Team Daniel. With all due respect, they're all idiots. Nah, I'm just kidding. I see Daniel's appeal. He's sweet and nice and just too great, y'know what I mean?
Fletcher makes mistakes but honestly, who doesn't? He takes responsibility for his actions and he's a big ball of fun. He's in a band and his hair is great and he is great.

Team Fletcher until the day I fucking die bro, and you know it. If Alexis chooses Daniel, I will be upset. VERY upset and no one likes a sad Kelly. Right Becca? RIGHT?
