As for your college depression situation, my brother's a freshman at college this year as well and he just came home for the weekend today. He doesn't like it very much either; everyone and everything is still back in his hometown. I kinda figured he'd be miserable, I don't know why. My sister wasn't (that I know of) when she started, but she didn't have a girlfriend waiting back at home for her and she wasn't ever home much anyways.

...No funny story though. I'm lame.
