Keep Your Heart Wide Open. - Comments

First of all, let me just say that this story is waaaaaay better than most I read in the "girl goes on tour and falls in love" genre. Most of them are simple and set up the romance in a clunky rushed way to get to an explicit sex scene. You, however, set up a believable, interesting main character that was likable (instead of being one-dimensionally good at everything and attractive to everyone) and a situation with band members that made their established friendship credible. The romance is well paced and realistic, and even though I'm not a big fan of This Century (love The Maine, though), I'm going to read this as often as possible!

So I'm only on the second chapter, but I really like this! The summary is ADORABLE, and so is the layout. Love the relationship between Gianna and the boys, it's so close knit and awesome. Great job!!! I'll definitely be catching up on chapters in the next couple of days.

The chapters just keep getting cuter and cuter. I love it. I also love that he sang Everywhere, Everything for her. That is one of my favorite songs by them and I would melt if he sang it to me lol.

I was going to mention the paragraph thing, but i saw sparks beat me to it.

I've only read up to chapter four, but I really like it so far. I think everything does flow well together. I have no idea who Joel is, but I look forward to finding out more in this story.

I think my favorite part so far was when Joel was teaching her on the piano. That was really cute of him to do that. You do seem to describe things a lot, and I do like that.

To start off, though this is something I've seen often in stories I've received through comment swaps, I don't really get the purpose of adding character photo links in the summary. That's what the character page was created for.

Moving on to the actual content of the story, I've noticed that there are no paragraph breaks in the dialogue of this first chapter. You're supposed to begin a new paragraph after each bit of dialogue, and without those breaks, this becomes incredibly difficult to read. Adding on to the concrit, I also feel like the flow of this grew a little monotonous at times, so I would suggest to try varying your sentence structure a little more.

That being said, I thought this was a cute chapter, and I enjoyed the interactions between the characters and the way that your described their everchanging gestures. I thought that was a nice touch :)

It's awesome cause I actually know someone that grew up in the same town as The Maine. At least she claimed she did, but you never know about claiming these days right? Lol.

I have never actually read a Joel Kanitz story before. *and I shamefully admit I had to google* I'm in chapter three and I'm enjoy this story a lot. :D

Your character's are human, your writing style flows from point to point and isn't choppy, and it's overall a really cool idea and an awesome story! I'm excited to keep reading but I figured I would drop this here before I continue getting stuck. :P

I've only gotten to read the first few chapters so far, but I really like the characterization in the story. Gi seems so real, and that is probably the most important part of a story for me. The plotlines can be as ridiculous as the author wants, but if the characters don't seem real the story doesn't do anything for me. This story and your characters are very much alive in your writing. Keep up the excellent work!

I will start by saying that I have never read a Joel Kanitz story before. I really liked reading this though, or so far I'm enjoying it...I'm at chapter five at the moment. I really like your writing style, everything flows really well and Gianna is really relatable as a main character. I was a little wary when I read that she was going on tour and was afraid it was going to turn into one of 'those' stories. But it isn't and I have happily been proven wrong. I think this is very original and I can't wait to read the rest!

So, let me start off by saying that you have a real talent for this. You're style is evident in every chapter. I came across this story by accident-I'm sad to say I may not have read it otherwise-but am so glad I found it! I'm not entirely familiar with these bands, but I plan on going and checking them out on youtube soon. You've got a great plot going and I think that you'll be very successful with it. I'm honestly surprised that you haven't got more comments on this. My only suggestion would have to be that you should try entering a few times in between people talking, just to make it a little easier to read. I love the layout you have chosen for this story as well, it makes me wish I had more talent for making them! I'm very curious to see what's next for Gianna and Joel. I hope that you'll update soon and I will most definitely be subscribing to this! I can't help but wonder what's going to happen next! Great job so far and I hope you'll keep it up!
