XD Okay. Actually after reading your comment, I reread most of A Promise and found I didn't need to change much, but the last few chapters went in a slightly different way than I wanted. But I get what you mean with Butcher's character and relationship with Grace. ^_^

Thank you so much for commenting! ^_^ And yeah, I feel that way as well, but it's the romantic(ish) stories that get the most reads on here.

I do agree that Butcher was better before I tried to make it more romantic between them. XD I will probably change that a bit or make it more Best Friends or Brother/Sister sort of relationship.

And I am continuing it. I actually have most of it done already, just haven't posted it. XD

I'm glad you've improved on your story and can't wait to see if you continue it! Although I don't really think the romantic aspects of the story are that important, for example Butcher. I feel like he was fine the way he was without having to have any romantic inclination to Grace. But that's just my two cents xD

This is by far in my top 3 pirate-related stories I've ever read.

Actually, the short summary piqued my interest which then led to me reading your story. And I must say that I am very impressed. This story is praiseworthy and deserves to be recognized by people.

The way that you crafted Grace is different. You made her a strong but dependent woman. She is stubborn and she has good sense of judgement. She can keep secrets well and knows whom to trust. I am somewhat idolizing Grace. I would idolize her more if she stood up to Alice.

Alice is just plain annoying. The fact that she's a siren made her ten times more annoying. I'd probably won't care if you kill her in the next chapter or so.

Uh oh, Alice is part siren! That can't be good news! Can't wait for the next chapter!

Nice update, gives us a little more info about Grace's connection to the mermaids :)
