One More Year - Comments

  • Aww!! Love how Sidney stood up for their wedding! :))

  • Sid still in my head really needs to make it up to her that he made her wait 8 years for this! What sort of a man lets his parents talk him out of proposing to the girl who had been behind 100% for so long! I hate that he hid her and never made her feel 100% sure about his commitment! Seriosly Aleks is the catch in this relationship he is the idiot who dangled her on a string for years!

  • Max is a Pen with bad taste in clothes. Always has had bad taste in sweaters, the lurid orange is just perhaps arguably a little more tasteless than his previous alternative clothing choices. 'sides, how in the world could one forget Max? Even assuming they wanted to...

But really, I don't think it's that unusual that he be remembered - it seems that a player who stays their whole career with one club is the exception, not the rule (or, sadly, has a very very short career). So in that regard, it's must be pretty common to see one's friends be traded away. I very much doubt that the best friendships all fail just because one person takes a job in another town/state/country. And I can't see your version of Sid and your Aleks just forgetting the people they love just because they're wearing an opposing jersey. Silly Max, he should have had more faith in his friends.

Sid and Aleks have been secretly dating for 8 years, a lot of the guys who DID know about the two of them thought that they'd never finally tie the knot. Max is happy that he's not forgotten due to being on an opposing team. They love Max too much to forget him.

  • wait, they've gone public so of course the Flyers know it's Sid. Durr. Sorry. Still confused about the tears, though, please elucidate?

  • Ok, I'm reading back and I was hoping you could clear something up for me. In ch. 67, when she gives the invite to Max, he almost cried. ""I knew why he was nearly crying but we wouldn't discuss it here with so many prying ears." What have I forgotten? Why was he nearly in tears? Because he knew it was Sid and was familiar with their long history? Were they keeping quiet because some of the flyers didn't know who he was referring to? I'm confuzzled.

Hey it hurts HER too! It's gonna hurt me until they are playing and WINNING again! Stupid Lockout. *grumbles about stupid owners and Bettman*

  • In regards to the first sentence of this update: WHY WOULD YOU WRITE SOMETHING LIKE THAT?! I was almost over and you had to bring it back up, didn't you?

  • @ IStoleRennie.
Thank you. I know it takes a long time to read but I've enjoyed writing it so I'm not stopping now. LOL

  • I'd say Aleks or Holts for Conn Smythe...

In this case it's the exact opposite! Sid is doing more than I'm writing about because Mari is MAKING him do more. He knows what it takes to do a playoff run which is why he's doing it without complaint.

A lot of grooms - at least the ones I know - leave almost everything up to the bride and her "helpers". Tuxedo and rings - that is about all they do!

Good for Sid for stepping up!

They have to do the things Mari can't when they have time. They didn't get it all but they got the major things done.

I would agree that Sid is VERY important to getting this done and pulled off on time. He's got to do more than MOST grooms would to keep Aleks in the playoff zone. It's nice to see him put his money where his mouth is. Not just say he's supporting her but actually doing it full force.

  • WOw, they certainly seem to be knocking the items off the Wedding to do list. Good for them. They needed this time together. And it is great that Sid is being such a good sport about it and doing his best to help.

Aleks needs to have as much of the pressure off her - she has a lot on her mind right now - and it is great to see Sid supporting her - rather than it always being her supporting him!

Yes, yes. I know! Poor girl because she was so... Eh, delusional! ^^

  • I applaud him for doing his best. Some guys wouldn't. Its just amusing to see him stand up to a puck bunny when clearly she's the last person he wants to deal with. Yay for awkward Sid lol.

She's done a lot for him while staying in the shadows, he's _trying_ to return the favor but he is no way can stay out of the limelight although he _IS_ trying.

Do you not know what a puck bunny is? They want to "have" the stars all to themselves. They don't care who the guys might be with, they are the only "right" one for the guy. Sid is Awkward around women he doesn't know, you can see that in pictures easily.
