Thank you for the compliment. There IS drama but I've tried to make it more organic than cheating, as you say it's WAY over done. Even with Twitter, we still only see a fraction of the player's lives.

I have tried, until recently, to stick as close as posible to what actually happened during last season. Now I'm having fun and going with the flow. Honestly if I haven't gotten the feedback I have I probably would have given up as well. I am SO thankful for all of my commentators, you guys make MY day.

I really do enjoy this. The characters are human, they're funny. There's not an overwhelming amount of drama which is nice because some writers reeeeeally overdo it with drama. You have a nice balance. I do hope to avoid the cheating cliché because to me it feels as though a lot of hockey writers use that to bring in drama and its not always necessary you know? Its used too much and it does get old. As far as the pressure to write, I don't get that like I used to. I gave up on my hockey stories because I lost inspiration for them. Maybe on one of my days off from babysitting, I'll try writing hockey again. It'd be even more worth doing if they get a CBA agreement and we have hockey this year. I'm cautiously optimistic seeing as they've met a few days in a row for hours and hours. It gives me a little hope. Cross your fingers! <3

If I didn't have a quick update schedule I would go INSANE with the pressure to write in my head. This gives me a chance to do both stories with, hopefully good chapters. I have been known to put out one for each in a day (and soon will be doing that tonight), it's a rare thing though. I'm SO happy you are enjoying this.

I'll admit, I'm not a fan of the Wings but that pretty much comes with the territory of being a Hawks fan lol. I can't stand the Flyers or the Canucks. I do respect almost every goalie but I have little respect for Mike Smith of the Coyotes. Not very fond of Luongo but I feel like with him its more of a rivalry based thing. Smith on the other hand, a genuinely large heap of dislike for him. I call him Skirty. I love that you have a fairly quick update schedule, its lovely for me because I read really fast.

As my avatar plainly says I'm a Wings and Pens fan. I hate the Flyers and the Avs. Although I do have TONS of respect for ALL Goalies (except Roy, HATE HATE HATE him!). I try to put out a chapter for each every other day. They are VERY entwined which makes it fun for me.

I can't stand most of the Flyers at all. Max would probably be about the only exception. But yes, Hartnell is one of the worst. I have double the dislike for that team in general because I love the Hawks and the Pens. I'll keep watch for the next chapter for sure. I'll need something to do while babysitting.

When I asked for the most hated person on the Flyers his was the first name that came up. I don't care for him either, he's a good bad guy. It'll probably be tomorrow before you guys get more of this one, am nearing the end of a chapter for Leaping though.

I'm not sure yet what will happen with all the wedding stuf yet, I haven't written it all yet. ;) As for them both being sponsored by the same company it only made sense really Reebok needs a female face for their line why not the first female skater in the league?

Wow - Sid and Aleks both being sponsored by Reebok - that would be a marketing manager's dream. They could promote the crap out of that one!

And it would be certainly beneficial for Sid and Aleks to have their schedules aligned so that they can maximize their time together.

I hope the wedding doesnt spin out of control - as weddings tend to do. Aleks deserves a day to remember - she has patiently waited so long and been through so much!

I have to say that I'm absolutely loving this story! Its 5:40 AM and I should've been asleep hours ago (gotta be up by 8!), but I couldn't stop reading! This was worth the tiredness that will kick my ass later! Can't wait for an update! <3

@Jazter I'm sure neither Sid nor Aleks mind how much the dress costed or whatever, and of course, she could have easily gotten a big designer to make her dress, but she's a simple gal, she doesn't care about any of that.

What matters the most is that she's getting married to the love of her life, nothing else. Both probably make more than enough money, but it's not about that or showing off. It's about getting married and if she's comfortable and in love with her dress why does it matter where she bought it?

Stephanie spent a really long time looking for dresses and everything else online, and, at the end of the day, it's HER story. Therefore she can pick whatever she wants.

I never said Sid didn't care about how much she spent for the dress, in fact I never said that he was paying for the dress. In fact when I wrote the chapter about her finding the dress one of her bridesmaids was only dating Geno so she was thinking of her bottom line as well.

I also did DAYS worth of research to find the perfect dress for Aleks, looking at all sorts of websites, including ones for boutiques in Pittsburgh. I don't happen to live there. I live in Alaska and am doing my very best to make this feel right.

As for not spending a tons on a gown, Aleks would much rather spend that money doing other things like including their teammates kids for those who will be there. If she feels perfect in a dress from somewhere others think of as low-ball then that is what she's going for. After all every bride wants to feel like a Princess on her wedding day.

I invited something like 140 people to my wedding an had about 80 people attend, this with Save the Date notice about 3 months prior and the invitations out 9 weeks before the wedding. My wedding was out of town for the majority of the invitees so that surely cuts down the number of people attending and will for Sid and Mal.

My qualms about the wedding planning as described? I don't understand why someone who's marrying into 'the elite' would go to David's Bridal for a dress, esp. when the fiance doesn't care how much anything costs. It's a discount wedding dress salon. I'm not saying that one has to spend a lot of money to get a nice dress but my own experience at David's Bridal was underwhelming and I really wasn't impressed with the quality of the stock I was shown. Sid no doubt spends several thousand dollars on one new suit so he'd not even blink at a 10K dress (and I'm pretty sure that would be low-ball for brides marrying into the Penguins or the Capitals).

You should read Leaping as well, Mari is doing the "heavy lifting" for this with Sid backing her up. I remember all too well planning my own wedding, There will be tension. 80, because it's kind of last minute, is more than I actually expect. I actually am going to be making up a list and seeing who might make the trip. Gonna be "fun". If anyone has any ideas I'm open to them.

God, planning a wedding ain't a cake. I still remember how my older cousin had to plan his wedding. He was so stressed; my parents ended up helpin him more than his parents... Blah, I'm drifting off. But I do remember how family flew in.. It was biiiiiiig! 80 seems to be a small number for those two though. I mean, with all the people those two know?? Won't it be hard?? Ôô

It is great that Sid was so supportive of Aleks and all she has done - I think it is important for him to voice his support, after how supportive she has been of him over the past 8 years. But I cant help but think he doesnt like the idea of her fighting - as I am sure she doesnt like him fighting - and I am sure they are both trying not to think about the possibility of playing each other.

I mean in true hockey player style, they are taking "one game at a time" and focusing on their current opponent - but I am sure there is a bit of dread stewing in the back of their minds.
