When comment swap gave me a Harry Potter story, I was a little apprehensive. I've read so much terrible HP fic in my time that I just hope for the best but brace for the worst. Thank god you have a solid story. Your layout is simple and tasteful. It's refreshing to read a story that's more a fanfic prequel, so to speak, than a rewrite of the books. I dig Kathrin's character development too. The only issues I had were a few minor grammatical errors. Good work, good fic.

So, when I first saw it was Harry Potter fan fiction, I wasn’t sure how I would feel. I typically don’t read Harry Potter fan fiction, so I wasn’t sure how I would feel, but sometimes it’s good to read new things.
I thought you were able to use great descriptions. As I was reading, I was able to picture what you saying and I thought that was really great, and I appreciated that a lot. A good writer needs to be able to show and tell, and you do that well.
“The boy’s laughed at her; James’ put his hand on Kat’s shoulder as she tried to get up. She sighed and sat back down to continue watching the sorting.” I actually felt really connected to the story with this line. Part of me is unsure why, but this line really just stood out to me and I really liked that. I just felt a sense of inclusion to your story and I think that is great as a reader.
Overall, I think you are a really good writer! Keep it up!

Oh my! The last chapter was definitely quite dramatic. I love how feisty you've made Kathrin, it makes for a much more interesting story! Over all I really love the update, I think you've got great ideas!

I've always been a fan of back stories so this is actually pretty awesome. Props to you for thinking of making a story about the older characters instead of just inserting a random character into the series. The only suggestion I can think of making is proof-reading your work before submitting since there are minor mistakes (but they're so minor that it's not that easy to catch). Other than that, I really like it. Keep writing.

so I've read all the Harry Potter book but I've never read a Harry Potter fanfic before. I have only managed to read the first chapter but now i'm hooked. from what I've read Kathrin's character is very interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing how she progresses along with the rest of the story.

After finally reading all of the Harry Potter books, here I am to comment on this fanfiction. (I'm a bit lazy when it comes to sagas). I just read the whole thing in a row as soon as I got to the fanfiction. The first chapter got me hooked and now you have a fan. I really like your writing, it's easy to understand but good and polished, and the plot keeps us hanging, makes us want to know more and more about everything. I'm really enjoying it so far lovely. I can't wait to know more, are you updating soon? I hope so, it's a shame to see a really good and filled with potential fanfiction stopped. I apologize for only stopping by now, this is amazing though! Loving it, sweetheart. Congrats! (: x

Okay, so I have read all of the Harry Potter novels, and I usually don't like reading fanfics about them. BUT I really like how you decided to make the story about the "older" characters from the original books. It was really exciting to see a history of Lily & James, and your original characters are all interesting as well. Also, I'll always love seeing a flirty Snape :) overall, I think you are doing really well with this. Keep it up!

I really like Kathrin's character, she's very interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing how she progresses. I love James' protectiveness, it's adorable. Kat is such a mastermind, though sometimes dimwitted. She honestly reminds me of my self ^^'.

I'm from comment swap. I'm a potterhead so this story is right up my street. First off, I love your layout- it's simple but fits the story well. I like Kat but James is by far my favourite character, he's just such an awesome brother to her :) Your descriptions are really good and you've balanced the amount of dialogue perfectly. Overall it's an awesome read and I'll be recommending :) Keep updating!

James is such an awesome brother! Really protective yet knows when to not get too serious! And Sirius is pretty awesome, too! Always worrying about and caring for Kat! He likes her! :P

Well I was sent here by comment swap so here goes nothing.
I got a bit confused in the beginning chapters because you barely touched on the first year and then jumped to summer and then Kat's 4th year. I also think you need a little bit more character development instead of just action and random events. I like the later chapters more, but once again I think it could be better if you added more detail and character development. Build the relationships a little more and the entire story will be better. You have a couple spelling and grammar errors, but nothing too bad.
Overall I like it. I just would like more detail.

I really enjoy reading each new chapter you write it flows so well and there is always something happening i'm excited to see what is going to happen next.

I always give a squeal of delight when comment swap takes me to a Harry Potter story. I like that it's set before the trio's time. This is good. The detail is just right and the writing flows. It makes me giggle a bit. Good job, doll.

I think this is an amazing alternate universe fiction. I think Kathrin just fits in with the Marauders so well. All of their encounters are funny and cute. I also just love how the Marauders play so many pranks. It is so true to what JK Rowling said about them! I especially love the glitter prank because it was just so fun and harmless, and exactly like what the boys would have done. I also think your writing style is amazing! You have the perfect mix of description and dialogue within it. And you do a really good job of describing the actions surrounding them.
