The Man and The Monster - Comments

  • Wow, I've never read a story quite like this! I've never read a fanfiction based off of something like Notre Dame! I absolutely love it! Your writing skill is quite impressive and I can't wait to see more from this story, really glad I found this on comment swap! (:

  • Aha, that would be something that I would do; pretend not to be able to do something, then go ahead and do it just to wind up a person :P

However, I would never burn a flute, so shame on you Clopin - that was rather rude and mean of you! It was also nice that you got her another one though so all is forgiven, not sure if I can say the same for Geneviere though.

Your descriptions of the town is absolutely beautiful! I love how you include intricate details like the colours of the tent, the banners hanging from lamps and buildings - it's all beautifully described, it's able to picture itself in the mind of the reader, which is a good thing for a writer to do.

The conversation between Genevieve and Esmeralda is so typical for cousins, so kudos to you on that! It would actually be amusing to witness their conversations for real, but alas, that would never happen...unless you can find it in Disneyworld?!

I've said it before but I'll say it again, poor Quasi, people need to be nicer to him.

Really love this update, can't wait for more!
    Love you!

  • I can't believe I'm reading this. How unique! Well done for creativity, 10/10 for originality.

I'm not a Notredom fan, but it worked well because you gave me enough detail to understand what was going on. Throughout your early writings you had some run on sentences which could have been broken up nicely with some punctuation. However it seems that the more you write, the better you get.

I'd highly recommend that you keep this story going with a good plot, don't jump straight into each chapter but continue at a nice steady pace because it seems so complicated to me (only because I have no idea of this film!)

Otherwise you're doing such a good job. You should advertise this in the Blogs, I haven't seen it around that section. You could well rallly up an audience.

  • I can not believe I found this, never in my life of being on this site (which has been a while let me tell you) have I ever seen a fanfic based off of the Hunchback of Notre Dame! This is incredible! I can't believe it! LITERALLY!

Your characters are magnificent, and the layout doesn't distract from the story at all, which is double points for you!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! KEEP WRITING!

  • would never have thought out of all the Fanfictions in the world that I would be reading this, it's really unique which is always a good thing, your characters are great. And also the banner is pretty impressive, did you make it yourself? The title is also very interesting, get's the reader revved to read it. Keep writing and good luck!

  • wow, this is really good. i never thought that I would ever read a hunchback of notre dame fanfic. Your characters are great and you have a really good writing style. Your writing flows which is a great plus. :3 keep up the good work.
Ps. I'm here from comment swap!

  • I've never seen The Hunchback of Notre Dame so i can't really follow along well with this. I tried to give it a chance, I really did ! But I can't read Fan Fiction when i have no background knowledge of it. However, based on what I did read, you have a very lovely writing style and, given that you write something that I can understand, I'm sure I'd absolutely love it. Keep it up; sorry I couldn't give a better review!

  • So I'm not going to lie, this is something that I would probably never read normally. But you know what? I'm really glad I gave it a chance! It's so unique and it's literally like nothing I've ever seen on Mibba before. Plus, it helps a lot that you're a really great writer and you do a really good job at making your characters really easy to get attached to. Awesome job, and keep up the good work! :)

  • Hiya I'm from Comment Swap.I like to listen to SWS when I write. This honestly shocked me when I saw the layout and read what this story was about. But you wrote it like he was a real person so it appeals to me:)I never thought I'd see a story written on a cartoon character. It ttok me a minute to remember where he was from too xD

  • Well, this is very different to anything else on mibba! Which is good! I was a little put off, but I actually saw that you're a good writer who can explain detail very well. When reading stories I tend to like a lot of description and detail rather than just a load of dialogue throughout, do I like that.

  • I actually really like this :) It's nice to see this kind of fanfiction on here, because it's ususally been band stuff that people do now, but you've given a very nice and interesting twist to this classic tale. To be honest though, I didn't realize that Gen was a girl until her name was first said. I don't know why, but I thought that she was a guy. Opps :-p
But in all seriousness, I really do like this and I hope that you continue to update it. You are a very good writer, your story flows very nicely, and I look forward to the next chapter :)

  • Clopin was worried about her when she walked off, aww!
See, he does care, Genevieve; maybe you could be a little more nicer to him now, yes? Yes, good :D

LOL! I love asking people what they're after when they say something in a sweet tone, like that could possibly sway me...well, if often does but shh.

“Oh Genevieve you really are new here," He began, ignoring my threat completely, "I host the festival of fools.” - Lol, I couldn't help but laugh at that XD! He is such an ass :P

    This update is awesome!

Hopefully you'll update again soon :D

    Love it, my dear <3

  • I think your attention to detail is fantastic. I've never seen the Hunchback of Notre Dame but you described the characters enough that I don't think it's necessary. Be careful of having your characters talk directly to the audience, though. "... even when it was for the right causes, but more on that later." This is a bit awkward to read and makes your writing less mature. Beware of run on sentences as well. Keep writing and good luck.

  • I was sent here by comment swap :3
I love The Hunchback of Notre Dame and when I got sent here I got really happy. It's very descriptive which I like, I also like how you've portrayed the characters. You've got Quasimodo spot on I think! I'm definitely subscribing to this story and recommending it, I think everyone else should read this story too. I love your banner and layout too. Can't wait for your next update! :)

  • I've honestly never seen the movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame so I'm a tad confused on the characters and such, but thats alright since I plan on continuing to read this story (: You have a very flowing style of writing that is easy to follow and understand, something I enjoy since most stories that I've been reading are too smart for me xD Your story is great so far (:
