I am absolutely in love with this story. I'm an avid true crime reader and I watch all kinds of crime shows (both true crime and fictional ones). You have a great grasp on how the legal system works--there are some errors, but they're definitely forgivable. I myself tried to write a fanfiction in which a band member killed another band member; I didn't get very far, but I love that someone else is writing something similar to that. 1D.... I have no words for my love for them. You have done a great job keeping their personalities in line with what we know and at the same time changing things. It totally works, though, that's the thing. I just love how you're writing them.
Here's my thoughts on them, based on my extensive knowledge of crime/psychology:
Louis: He is extremely curious, as you stated in the story. He could be curious by nature, but he could also be curious because he is the killer and is worried that Elle will find out. Which, now that I think about it, doesn't make much sense because in the prologue the killer seemed very sure of his actions, not worried at all, so sure of himself. I'm interested to find out more about Louis; we haven't seen much about him yet, so I can't really tell if he has motive or not.
Zayn: I will admit: the fact that he was so nonchalant about the murder is a red flag. However, I get the feeling that he is apathetic in nature; that's just how he is. The same as with Louis, we haven't seen much of Zayn yet, so I'm curious to see more of his personality.
Harry: I have mixed feelings about Harry in this story. On one hand he seems to (at least in the last chapter) be telling the truth, acknowledging that he and Louis knew the girls, and even had sex with them, before the concert. On the other hand, though, the fact that before he told the truth, he did lie is a big red flag; lying is a very easy thing to continue doing after you've done it a few times. Once you realize that you can get away with it, it becomes easier to do and, sometimes, it can even bocome an obsession. So while it seems like he's telling the truth, he still may not be. He may also be not telling the whole truth; he may be leaving certain details out, or switching them around.
Liam: You have definitely thrown me for a couple loops with this guy. First he's rude and then he has his friends pretend to be FBI agents to get him out of prison and also to get him a girl, and THEN his name isn't even Liam Payne? I don't even know what to say, honestly. He's definitely a character to watch, though, that's for sure.
Niall: I've been wary of Niall from the very beginning. In all of my true crime novels and shows that I've read and watched, it is very common for the killer to be overemotional, overattached, very involved with the investigation, curious to know what's going on... just very, very involved. Niall seems to genuinely care that a girl was murdered, but it may all be a cover-up in order for Elle to dismiss him as a suspect. As I said, though, it's very common for the perpetrator to show this kind of behavior, so if I were Elle I would definitely look into Niall. The only thing that bugs me about Niall possibly being the killer is that the girl was found in his hotel room. I feel that killing her in his own room would be way too obvious, you know? It would definitely draw attention to him, since she was found in his room, and if he was smart (which the killer seems to be) he wouldn't have killed her in his room. So, I'm really conflicted with Niall.
I honestly have no clue who the killer is; it could be any one of the five of them. That means that you've done a good job in writing this, so congrats! I reccommended this, I'm subscribed, and I can't wait for more! :D
Also, the bit about have two Liam's and one being a fed is absolutely brilliant!
