This is such an interesting story. I've always found the Mad Hatter rather intriguing. What does Pareidolia mean? It sounds like it could be a disease.
I enjoy your writing style. However, I feel like maybe you could benefit from using a wider variety of words. Things like "imaginary" seemed a bit overused, in my opinion. I'm not trying to sound rude by any means, just offering a suggestion. But other than that, this was a fantastic story. I love the idea of it and the insight into the mind of the Mad Hatter.

it was more or less a quick thing I thought of, and I know it could have been better.
Pareidolia is seeing images that aren't really there such as a house that looks like it has a face, or a cloud that looks like a cat. But to an extreme where one actually believes these images do exist and are intractable.
