I also love the fact that you write the dialogue how they would talk in real life. But I think you mixed the uses of then and than. For example, "I'd rather go to the bookstore than the mall." Then refers to someone completing a task or something happening after another. Like, "She went to the bookstore then she went to the mall." Just thought I'd help you out because your writing and concept is admirable.
