The Things That Matter Most - Comments

Since Karen told them that Brian knowledge of music could help him I knew tha's a way to ge to him :) they should buy him an instrument to he can play :) he's so little and scared that he doesn't know that non of what happenedd to him is his fault and that not everyone will hurt him. They have to be very patient with him because the least thing they imagine can remind him of those horrible people.

Jake is so small and fragile and damaged. I really want Brian and Mia to be able to help him and I know it's a long process but I just want things to work out for all of them The way he got excited about music makes me wonder if that's the way to get through to him.

I feel really heartbroken for that little boy. I hope they can get to the bottom of things. It definitely sounds like he was sexually abused. Definitely, or at least mostly, by the man (most likely when he was asleep or during bath time) and it seems like the woman physically (and emotionally) abused him. It is absolutely unforgivable to do those kind of things to another human, never mind a child. No wonder he's scared and confused. It's going to take a long time for him to trust again.

I think the situation is going well, but I feel like he'll be more afraid of Brian at home, or the guys will throw a surprise party if they know. I hope everything goes okay ^.^

I really hope that the kid ends up being able to love and trust Brian. And I hope Brian doesn't lose his patience and let the situation effect his relationship with Mia. That would break my heart.

‘three steps forward, two steps back’ sounds very foreboding!!! I feel like something bad is going to happen. I hate that they are going to lose some of the progress they made with jake!!! He seems so sweet :) can't wait for more!!!

Thanks for the feedback! I was worried the smuttiness would come off weird because I had never written it like that to that extent before. The boys first family didn't adopt him because they were fostering 5 children and decided to settle down and adopt two of them. Jacob was sent back into the system out of pure misfortune with the other two and just ended up with bad luck and going to the second foster family. Sorry if that was confusing in the story, I probably could have been a little more clear
