Hope all is well with you! Thanks for the explanation below, it made me want to see things from Patrice's view even more (especially when Sid drops his confession). Hope there's a J+P update in the near future, this Sid twist has me hooked and I'd be really interested in seeing more of him and Jamie interacting while he was falling in love with her.

and @J_G, you're right, it's kind of unexpected that Jamie would drop out, but I plan on explaining it more in the upcoming J&P chapter. It's meant to really show Jamie's dedication to Patrice; it's something that just comes out of her; it's even unexpected to her because she's not a kind of person who does rash things but... she's in love. Like, really, really in love with him. And it's making her do things she doesn't normally do.

What I tried to do with this story though, is allude that time had quelled Patrice's nerves and insecurities. Yes, Sid sprung his feelings for Jamie on him when he was suffering from his post-concussion syndrome, but, now, in Sochi, it's two and some years later, and Jamie and Patrice are engaged and have grown as a couple. Even though this short short is a lot from Sid's point of view, examining his thought processes, it was also meant to show how calm Patrice is, and how sensible and sure of himself he has become and he has grown to be since the concussion and through his relationship with Jamie. He doesn't doubt her fidelity (and no, she never gave him a reason to, she really was JUST FRIENDS with Sid), and he's really just an angel, just a top notch guy. He forgives Sid, even if it's hard, because he too understands what it's like to suddenly be side swiped and taken by someone, and he is honestly his friend.

Hope you guys like it! I even tied in Bri from Sid's other short-short; not sure if anyone picked up on that! Maybe there's some foreshadowing going on there, huh? ;)

I have to agree with J_G I was shocked to read about Jamie dropping out of school and he dad cutting her off. Jamie doesn't seem the type to keep secrets that big from Patrice. I want to hear more about that. Maybe you could incorporate that into your J&P story. It seemed from what was mentioned of it that it may have caused a little rift between Jamie and her family. Only because parents don't usually cut off their parents of they support their decisions.

I really, really wanted to know what was going on in Patrice's head when this is all going down. He seems so insecure about his relationship with Jamie especially after the injury; I would think that Sid's confession would freak him out quite a bit and maybe question whether Sid would be better for her. I think this one shot could possibly be a jump off point for where you want to go next in the J&P story if you're feeling a little stuck. You've already started having little moments between Sid and Jamie so it'd be fairly easy. And maybe for another one shot do one either with Emily and Soupy or Emily and Adam. All in all I loved this one shot! I hope we get a J&P chapter soon!

I absolutely loved this! I really want to know what Patrice was thinking about all this?! And I found myself wondering if Jamie knew about Sid?! And I was shocked that she dropped out of school, especially without telling Patrice!! Thanks for the update, I felt like the songs went really well with the story!

The flash forward made me think of 'Bend In the Road' by Edwina Hayes because of their difficult and sad situation! I think the short and the song are similar because they're both punctuated with a little bit of hope.

I'm working on a Stamkos short short at the moment, but still have a question regarding this PB Flash Forward. I typically like to tie my pieces to music or a specific song but I couldn't find one for this J&P piece... Any song recommendations?

I KNOW. I SO wanted to do that but couldn't justify how Jamie would allow Patrice to wallow in depression only to give him the news he's been hoping for all along for his birthday, y'know? But I feel ya girl, I super wanted that too!

Also, the Toews story I'm working on is totally for you :)

Loved it! Not gonna lie at the end I was really, really hoping there was gonna be a positive pregnancy test or like an ultrasound picture in the card. It would have made up for all the sad stuff at the beginning. But I guess cute, fluffy interaction between the two of them at end makes up for it too!

Aw guys! Thanks SO much for your love and support! I have so many future J&P flash forwards planned!!!! I would write them all now but I just know I'll ditch my full length if I do that and I can't stop writing Je T'aime just because it's getting hard and sad now :(

But I'm so glad you all loved it! I planned this to be about three years ahead of where J&P are now in Je T'aime. I figured they dated for another year, then were engaged and married for a year before this flash forward took place. Hope that helps you all ground it!

Also on the back burner, just to keep you guys posted, is a Stamkos short short and a Jonathan Toews short short!!

OMG!!!! I loved it so much! I teared up twice! I want more of future J+P!! And I also want to know about all the stuff that's in between! And I also think they're not long enough, I could read them ALL DAY!! Thank you for writing such a great story!! :-)

Oh and how many years after "Je T'iame, Tu Sais?" is this?

I was sad at the beginning but I thought the rest of it was so cute! I'm so glad they're married and everything and on their way to being happier again! I want to know about them getting engaged, their wedding (and honeymoon), getting a house, winning the cup, and the rest of the cute stuff that's happened! Great job as usual!

The only thing I don't like about these is they aren't long enough:) they are really good:)

Oh I just loved this! Hope you write a future future with their kids. I can just picture them climbing all over Patrice like Guilli's.

You're an amazing writer, you portray people, and if those are just your portraits of them. It is so believable.

Loved this and they are two characters that would be great for an expanded story. I definitely want to see what happened next.
