I think Cherie deserves better than Patrick honestly. I think she should go out with friends and maybe go on a date or something. Patrick needs to figure out his shit instead of bouncing around acting dumb. I wanna whack him in the head with a baseball bat

okay, I am glad she's not pregnant, although I didn't see that coming. it makes sense, though. depression/anxiety can totally fuck with your body for sure. I am glad that Elisa got a backbone, especially after Patrick told her all kinds of shit about Cherie (including her name, wtf??). but I'm pretty pissed at Patrick for not at least trying to hide his sadness around Cherie. I get it, I've been divorced and it's awful, even if you want it. it's like a death, but she's got enough going on, she doesn't need to see her boyfriend all depressed about the end of his marriage. seriously??

dude I don't even know what I was expecting. honestly, pregnancy hadn't even crossed my mind. it didn't sound like that because she was losing too much weight and losing her appetite and such. I was thinking along the lines of different anxiety disorders or maybe even depression. and then in the back of my mind I was really worried that she had, like, cancer or something and she was going to die. (I WAS SERIOUSLY BRACING MYSELF FOR IT)

and I know what you mean about having the back story in your head because I do that alllll the time and then I remember that no one will know what I'm talking about unless I explain it, so I do, but then I've become so accustomed to it developing inside my head that I always think it's overkill when I actually put it on paper.

Very interesting perspective, I like it! Everyone is so focused on Patrick and Elisa, and how he wasn't fair to Elisa, and how he and Cherie are cheaters--which are all super valid points that I agree with-- but I think it's really interesting that you brought up how Cherie feels. Because she did let him off too easily. I mean, he's the root cause of all of her anxieties and her medical problems and her anorexia. He should have reacted in a different, bigger way, and maybe he just couldn't find the words to say everything he wanted to. He's going to address it later, you'll see! I know you're new to commenting, so thank you truly, because I love reading your thoughts!

Girl I forgive you (this time) I feel bad for Elisa too, but less so because I can picture her and Patrick's backstory, which I never really wrote, you know? So how I see her is obviously totally different than how you guys do, I guess, because to me so much more has happened that I never explained. But Patrick was extremely harsh, especially because ultimately he was in the wrong. I thought the little part after their fight was sad too, because they knew it was over, but just wanted to feel like everything was okay one more time, it broke my heart.

What *were* you expecting? A lot of people said pregnancy, and I thought that was interesting. I already had it written so obviously I wasn't going to change anything, but I knew everyone was in for a little surprise when I posted this. I feel bad for Patrick even though he knowingly put himself in this situation. I feel bad for all of them because this is such a big mess that no one was expecting. Out of all of them, though, Patrick should have been the first to realize. We'll see how things go after the divorce is finalized, hopefully it'll allow Patrick to breathe some.

I like that you're so skeptical of Patrick. I don't know why, but I love that basically everyone is ripping him apart. We'll see if he stays true to his word to Cherie!

I don't think anyone was! I would've kicked him out too. Patrick knows her, he should've known that something like this would happen. Which is why he's all torn up towards the end, because he *should* have known, but he was too oblivious. Like he is about everything else -_-

Exactly. Like I just said above, he's kind of out of it and torn up at the end because he should've expected this, none of this should have been a surprise to him because he knew what Elisa was like. And also like I said, I like that everyone is hating on Patrick. I think it's so interesting for us to see him in such a different situation than usual. It's immoral, it's wrong, it's unacceptable, but he's Patrick and for me it's hard to not use "It's Patrick, he's innocent and sweet and loves Cherie" to defend his behavior. Because even though he loves Cherie it isn't right, it never should have happened, and it's all his fault, going as far back as the first night they spent together. I loved your comment because it's so blunt and so honest. I think if I can get you guys to hate him even though he's Patrick then I'm doing *something* right

anyway, I feel bad for Elisa (even if she is acting a little childish in that last part) Patrick was pretty harsh to her and she definitely went easy on him, especially with him casually telling her about Cherie and everything he loves about her, oh man, that just broke my heart for Elisa. I really liked how you included the aftermath of the fight because that's not something that's often seen in this scenario. it was just really bittersweet, seeing them share an intimate moment for the last time.

oh my god can I just say I'M SO GLAD CHERIE ISN'T DYING. I totally wasn't expecting that, so good job surprising me. I knew elisa would find out! I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! Gaah! As for elisa's defense, that still hurts and I would still fight for my husband because he's mine. I was kinda hoping for more shouting when they fought but I liked it either way.
