I can understand her mother being a little protective of her daughter, but to say the things she said. I hope Veronica tells her off and doesn't ruin her chances to find happiness again with jamie
Thanks for sharing the Dude Perfect video! Haha I just love those two together.
Back to the story, I don't know what is up Sharon's butt but she needs to stop. Veronica is feeling more alone than ever and her own mother can't even be there to provide her some sort of comfort. I say yes to Jamie all the way. I love how he's being there for her without forcing his feelings at her. He's simply being the friend that she desperately needs in her time of grief. That bit when she called the men's warehouse broke my heart.
This is sooooo good! Can't wait to read more and glad you are writing another story.....although I am anticipating the return of "wasting all my tears"!
I'm convinced you're just trying your damn hardest to make me cry and it's close to working. I already don't care for her mom; I get the whole overprotective that's my daughter notion, but seriously, she needs to relax. Can't wait for the next one.
Girl. I don't think it's possible to even convey how happy I am that you're back. So so so excited to read this. Loved chapter 1 and am very happy that Tyler Seguin will be a side character in this! Jamie Benn is a total dreamboat. Dude Perfect made a youtube video of trick shots with Seguin and Benn and it shows their relationship in such a great way. I melted any time Jamie laughed or smiled...so this story will be very easy to love!! Welcome back, my friend. <3
Wow psycho mom alert. There's a line between protecting your child and being overbearing and Veronica's mom seems to be toeing that line. I get the whole point that she's doesn't know Jamie or his intentions, but that's kind of my point as well. She could have given him the benefit of the doubt. Especially after he was considerate enough to call her and let her know where her daughter disappeared to. If his intentions were really that seedy or malicious would he have gone through with making that probably very awkward phone call? Most likely not. I wouldn't be surprised if her mother is a professional helicopter parent. And not only because Veronica is in a fragile state right now, but all of the time.
Part of it may be a bit of jealousy - that Veronica turned to this guy Mom doesn't know, instead of turning to her. The whole "Mother knows best" idea. Part of it may be embarrassment - that she had no idea where Veronica went and had to explain her absence to family and friends. But I do think the big part is that " who is this guy?" trying to move in on her very vulnerable daughter and "what are his motives".
Her mom is a bitch. I understand being worried that someone will take advantage of your daughter in her vulnerable state but I don't even get that feeling from her. Just that she is accusing
Already don't like her mom. Instead of being grateful that Veronica had someone safe to retreat with, she coveys innuendo and makes them both feel bad. Definitely on Team Jamie/Veronica. Since their loss is so recent, I'm prepared for a slow advancement of their friendship prior to any romance.
Finally got to read this and you already know how hooked I get on your stories! I can tell this one is gonna be another roller coaster of emotions...and I absolutely can't wait for the ride. I know everyone will enjoy it!
