This is not how I expected them to meet, but I am so excited to see where this goes. I was a little teary eyed thinking about how Jimmy would have actually looked standing there and staring at his long-lost child.

I love how the layout isn't too pink or bright or crazy to the point it gives you a headache lol. I also love how the picture of Sarah shows her with a bit of an edge, but the pink is tied in. Edgy girls can like pink too!!

The way you have a more detailed history is awesome. I hate when you go to read a story and it's like "I was adopted and had a shitty life.... I'm at the bus station buying a ticket now." The way you wrote it gives enough background that you get a picture and a feel for it but it's not drawn out forever and making the story drag out. It's neat how you added Millie in there too, even though she might not be a significant person in the story (or she could be later on for all I know lol) it shows a lot about your character's personality. Obviously she's a good person if Millie is drawn to her the way she is.

Onto the letter! It was absolutely touching! It sets it up perfectly for Sarah to go looking for her parents because she has that to show that it's not like she was unwanted, it was just a better situation for her to go to the orphanage. The little details about how she was wearing the pink hat with the bow and how Jimmy was looking at her through the glass puts touches on it that really paint a picture.

I also liked how Sarah has a good relationship with her caregivers. Sure, being orphaned for your entire childhood probably sucks, but it shows another side of it where the caregivers are actually appreciated and loved by the kids.

I have to say that I read the first chapter before I fell asleep, and just forgot to leave a comment. So I'm going to do it now.

I love the layout. It is very simplistic and easy to read which is something that I really like. It makes the story that much more intriguing.

The opening paragraph was very beautiful and unique. I know from my own experience is really hard to write an opening paragraph that luring sometimes. I bow to you because it just looks flawless.

Your characters sound really good, and I'm really interested in how they will grow and change throughout the story. I also am enjoying the plot so far, and really want to see where it goes. I think it's really unique and original. Your writing style is really amazing, and it's not really a surprise that I like. I have read some of your other stories and really enjoy the way you write.

So I just read the first chapter, but I'm gonna continue to reading.

I only read the first chapter, as it's about 2:30am where I'm at, but I've added this to my subscription list so I can come back to it! I'm very curious about Sarah's backstory. I have an inkling that there's more to than what I've read so far. And I'm also wondering why Jimmy would give his hometown to a child he was giving up, besides plot reasons. I can only imagine what's going to happen when Sarah finds him! (I'll probably drop another comment once I read more and find out.)

The only criticism I have is that there seems to be a lot of run-on sentences. Also, you should start a new paragraph whenever a new person speaks. But other than those grammatical issues, you've got a fantastic story on your hands!
