@ Indigo Umbrella I know this is horrible on my part to just now thank you for commenting on The She-Wolf of Erebor, but life gets crazy. Thank you so much.
You have my utmost support. I understand how stories ebb and flow with motivation and ideas to write. I will patiently wait, take all the time you need.
I'm dying for an update you are killing me! No but seriously I love this story and I'm just dying to read more it's be awhile sense yoube updated and I know it's been the holiday season and all that but I miss this Fili fan fiction
Okay, so I'm a massive LOTR nut, but I've never read a Fili fic. I've seen them floating around but have never really read a description that has really called out to me. I loved the idea of this story and was so keen to read it! I'm glad to say I thoroughly enjoyed it too! I love the way that it was written, and I think you captured their language and the overall tone of how the story should've been set. It reminded me a lot of reading the Hobbit, but I felt like the way you had set it out and the descriptions you used were much better for a more modern perspective.
I absolutely love that Thorin all in one politely refuses, and then just offers up his nephew. This is so hilariously real, I feel like it's so within their characters. The interaction between Fili and Kili in chapter two (and basically every chapter, 4- is also a fantastic one) killed me, it was such down to earth dialogue and witty banter. Also, Beryl is such a fantastic character. She's exactly how I'd imagine a dwarves princess to be. Hope you update! :)
I never got into LotR until I watched all the Hobbit movies and I entirely enjoyed them. I have to say this story makes me so happy. To have a new point of view added in to kind of continue or relive the movies is great. And my goodness you're an amazing author. You write so well, I forget I'm reading a story online. Your OC and plot fits in so well with the movie characters. I look forward to reading more.
I found this today and i must say I'm loving it. I love the length the voice the characters and the relationships. Not to mention you are using the books story line but with a fresh character and new adventures. I can't wait for a new update!!!
I really enjoyed the abundance of information in the first chapter. It wasn't too much information to bore the reader, but it was just enough to get the reader to understand what was happening, why she was getting married, and her exact thoughts on the union that she did not approve of. I think my favorite part of the first chapter is the wedding; the description was short and uneventful. It described how forced and unhappy it seemed to be to Beryl; I mean, the groom didn't even show up for goodness sake! It just cast a miserable veil over her life, beginning with the dreary and not very planned out and extravagant wedding.
For some reason, I am completely in love with the first paragraph of the second chapter. He's accepted his life as a married man without even looking at his wife. It's as if he's grown up a little in just a few moments... when in reality, that might not be true. I'm just happy that he refuses to find another woman to bed because he believes it will taint Beryl's name.
I am not sure about the relationship between Thorin and Beryl. I suspect that there is a little something there, and I don't really want that to happen since has been married to Fili, but I want to think that he's just trying to be a kingly, brotherly type figure who is nothing like her father. I just don't want there to be anything more between them. Anyway, I am loving this story because I completely love The Hobbit (the movies, not the book) and I just love all the characters. I can't wait to see how she adjusts to the adventure in store!
I love this so far! It's so well written and I love the look into dwarven high society. It makes it all the more intriguing and my heart really aches for her being thrust into this marriage unexpectedly. I can't wait to see how she and Fili get along. I hope to see more from you soon! :D
