The layout is easy to read and I love the banner. The summary is short but it makes me want to find out more what happens.
    Quote
This night he had taken a sleeping medication, prescribed by his doctor, in hopes that maybe he would have a dreamless night.
Not so much of a dreamless night as he thinks...
    Quote
A shadow emerged from the light to stand over him. A disfigured body. Long and thin it widened towards the top into a large head.
    oooh aliens!!!
    Quote
He could see the earth around him. Raised above his home, through the trees and into the clear black sky, before everything went black.
That's just so weird. Then it turns out it was only a nightmare? what a crazy ass nightmare to have.

Anyways, Thanks for entering this in my contest. Was a good entry!! I enjoyed it.

I'm so into aliens right now (as I have 2 stories now that are dealing with this topic) so I definitely had to check this story out! And I must say I was not disappointed!

You do a great job of setting up the atmosphere of this story, and creating that calm nighttime feeling along with that air of creepiness that only the nighttime can bring. Your descriptions throughout this one-shot are just great and really help maintain the tone of the story! And because it's all gotta do with aliens, I almost have to wonder at the end if the main character was just simply having a nightmare or was actually abducted-- It really leaves you guessing!

The only other thing I want to add, is a few of the shorter sentences in the story feel kind of awkward and disjointed. I think the one that stood out the most to me as not really flowing well is in your third paragraph: A shadow emerged from the light to stand over him. A disfigured body. The second sentence just seems kind of awkward to me. I don't know. Now the more I read it, it kind of works. (Just ignore me).

Anyway, I really enjoyed reading this! Great job!

I love this. I love how, at the end, you're like "wait, did it really happen or was he dreaming?" Bravo! Clap

Man, I love Aliens so much.

The layout seriously is beautiful. The ants on a TV line was brilliant for some reason. I like that it gave me a great idea as to what he was hearing, or at least a visual representation to make me feel as uncomfortable as that sound would have made him.

I just feel bad that the dudes meds didn't work. Poor guy. Sleep is important and a precious treasure sigh
