Serena: A Whole New Breed of Vampire

Edward’s POV:

I lay there running my finger gently threw Serena’s hair as she sleep soundly barely moving lie usual. She is a very peaceful sleeper. She had been asleep for about 5 hours it is now around noon and the sun is shining brightly threw Katrina’s windows. I smiled and touched Serena’s cheek. I couldn’t help but compare what the sun did to our skin. Mine shined like a multi faceted diamond making it impossible for me to walk outside in the sun, but Serena the sun made her skin glow she looked like and angel or a goddess of some sort. I chuckled at my thought she was the closest thing to a goddess this world will every see. The glow of the sunlight on her skin made her so breath taking I stared transfixed at her. I didn’t even notice when she stirred until her voice gasped and said “You’re so beautiful” I closed my eyes as I felt her warm hand touch my chilled skin

“How do I feel to you now?” I asked kissing her palm

her delicate fingers continued to trace the contours of my face as she whispered “Your chilly, but not like ice they way you were before you feel more like when the AC in cranked up a lot, and you aren’t quite as hard like I could possibly poke you and have your muscles and skin give just a bit” she murmured her finger found my lips and I kissed her finger tips “How do I feel to you?”

I let my arms snake around her I pulled her close but kept my eyes closed “Hmm” I murmured feeling her fingers touching tracing my nose and cheeks now “You used to feel like fire under my fingers, but now you feel like warm bath water comfortingly hot. Before I felt as thought one wrong move would snap break you now I can feel the power in your limbs and I know it is much harder for me to hurt you physically” I held her tightly to me

“Good because I like being physical with you” she murmured into my ear nipping lightly at my earlobe I groaned deep in my throat and let my eyes flutter open I smiled seeing her glowing face and perfect features.

I pushed her body back a bit needing space to concentrate “Katrina said you could use the bathroom and you could wear whatever clothes you would like” I said looking deep into the swirling violet pools that were her incredibly large eyes.

“Ok” Serena murmured pulling herself out of the large bead and walking towards the bathroom I groaned seeing the tiny navy night gown against her glowing pale legs and chest. He blonde curls were ratty and looked sex mused she was a wet dream on legs. Then in that moment it hit me and she was all mine. “Ed will you go find the others tell them I’ll be done in 20”

“Of course Darling” I appeared at her side I watched the smile spread across her lips as she took in my shirtless form. I leaned down and kissed her lips hard before disappearing out the door in search of my family and Serena’s mentor.

Serena’s POV:

I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my hair before wrapping my body in a plush white towel. I walked out of the steamy bathroom and made my way to the other door I assumed it was a closet. I pulled open the door and gasped this closet was huge it had rows upon rows of clothes, shoes and accessories. I squealed and began searching for something to wear.

Edward’s POV:

I found my family Katrina and Marcus sitting in a little kitchen area. I smiled as Katrina flitted around cooking breakfast for herself and I assume Serena. I heard Alice and Katrina giggled I looked into their minds and saw Serena dancing around and giant closet in only a towel. I quickly tuned them out and chuckled “I think she found the closet”

Serena’s POV:

I smoothed out my outfit it consisted of a short pleated black skirt with big buttons on my right hip and a lime green cheetah print tank top I threw on a whit hoodie and danced out of the closet. I finger combed my still wet curls and twirled around the room giggling to myself I was in a fairytale and I couldn’t be happier. I walked to the mirror and saw that my eyes were bright yellow like a cat’s I laughed out loud and thought to my self Lets try something new I closed my eyes and envisioned my self with big ice blue eyes and choppy black hair that went to my breasts. I opened my eyes and saw a bran new girl staring back at my I smiled at her and touched the reflection

I jumped as I heard Katrina’s voice say “Very good I wont have to work on that with you it appears as though you’ve got it” she walked forward and twirled a lock on my now midnight hair “Come breakfast is done” the blonde immortal said cheerfully

“Can we race?” I asked giddily wanting to use my super speed

“Sure” Katrina said and then she was gone I took off following her scent after about a sixteenth of a second I saw here I pressed my self faster, but she came to a halt I stopped quickly my new midnight hair flowing everywhere “I win” Katrina said happily

I stuck my tongue out at her and smiled seeing my family I jumped on Alice and said “You should see Katrina’s closet it is amazing” I hugged Rose next

She looked at me and said “Serena?”

“duh” I said then I remembered “My bad” I blinked and felt my hair brush my lower back “better”

“Much” the answer came from Edward I leapt at him and he caught me midair before cradling me to his chest “I like you this way although you did look very sexy with black hair and blue eyes” he said kissing my neck softly and moaning silently into my skin.

I giggled and Katrina and the family smiled at us before Katrina said “Breakfast is ready” I sniffed and smelled back and chocolate chip pancakes.

I squealed and appear on the barstool faster than anyone expected. Edward pouted at the empty air he now held and walked at human pace to were I sat before wrapping his arms around my waist. Katrina set a huge stack of pancakes with a side of bacon in front of me I squealed and dug into them like I hadn’t eaten in a year “SO GOOD” I moaned my mouth full

Katrina chuckled and took much smaller bites than I of her pancakes after we had both finished Katrina asked “would you like to have your first lesson?”

“Can’t move” I groaned burying my face in Edward’s neck

“We get to go outside” she added

“Ok I’m better” I said excited to go out into the sun for the first time in what felt like years

“But it is sunny?” Rose said sounding confused

“I forgot Serena and I don’t sparkle per say we more” Katrina searched for the correct word

“Glow” Edward said holding me once again and kissing the top of my head

“Yes we glow” Katrina said nodding “Would you like to see?” she questioned gesturing to the closed tightly drapes in the kitchen area

“Ooh yes please” Alice said clapping her hands excitedly Katrina nodded and opened the drapes wide the small area was filled with the bright late afternoon sun. I buried my face in Edward’s neck for a moment before hearing 3 female gasps

“What?” I asked my head shooting up

“You are even more beautiful” I heard Esme say sounding chocked up I extracted myself from Edward and walked slowly towards his sparkling mother. I sat on Esme’s lap and wrapped my arms around her neck tightly

“Thank you” I whispered tears of happiness flowing down my cheeks and disappearing as they fell away from my skin. I laughed before wiping at my dry cheeks “I don’t understand” I laughed looking at Katrina

“Just a Siren thing” she shrugged I nodded not caring much

“Thank you” I whispered once more to Esme

“For what darling” she asked kissing my head softly

“For being my mommy” I whispered childishly hiding in her neck like I would have done at a younger age

“I’ll be your mommy forever especially now my sweet little girl” Esme said sounding choked up. I’m sure if she could have cried she would have cried along with me. We rocked back and forth for quite sometime the whole room was silent just watching us

“Serena” Katrina’s voice said softly I looked up at her and she smiled

“Pink? What does pink mean?” Alice asked looking at me

“She feels loved or feels love towards another creature” Katrina said happily she clapped her hands loudly before saying cheerfully “Now we must go out and get to work I have a week to teach you so much” she giddily came towards me and pulled me up “DO you have a car or should we run?” Katrina asked already knowing the answer

“Run” I said happily I gripped her hand and she giggled

We were about to take off when Edward called “Wait”

I turned he walked to me and took me in his arms and gave me a passionate kiss “Wow” I said breathless

“Bye” Katrina chirped darting out of the room me following close behind

I laughed as we ran full speed threw hallways then up some stairs we were at the main office then we darted out into the street. We dodged people to fast for human eyes to see and to fast for unsuspecting vampires to see. In a few seconds we were outside the city wall. Katrina let go of my hand and spun around in a circle for the first time I saw what I must look like in the sun. it was like her skin glowed and shimmered not sparkled like the others it looked like those pictures of angels, but could almost pass as natural. “Wow do I look like you in the sun?” I asked holding up my hand. My skin didn’t seem quite as beautiful as her

“Darling” she chirped her hands on her hips looking at me “We could pass as twins our only differences is your nose is cuter than mine”

“No mine is to tiny yours fits your face perfectly” she shook her head before taking my hand and we began running northwest away from the city “Where are we going?”

“Just a forest it has a lake. We are going to work on elements today” I nodded wordlessly and let her lead as we flew faster than any other creature threw the country side.

Edward’s POV:

I turned to the family I didn’t need to look in a mirror to know my eyes were dark as night “I need to hunt soon”

“It is to light out for you to go now” Marcus said looking troubled with my predicament.

“Can Heidi bring back a deer or something for him?” Rose suggested picking at her nails

“I will see but probably not you will most likely need to wait till dark then there is a forest not 100 kilos north west you can go feed at” Marcus said standing up we all followed him to the congregation /feeding room to mingle with old acquaintances.

Serena’s POV:

I was suspended in the air. Wind had wrapped around my body and lifted me about 15 feet of the ground I giggled as the wind I was creating kicked up my hair and brushed against my cheeks “Good” Katrina cheered “Try water and air together” I thought of drifting over the lake. I opened my air I was suspended over the crystal blue water. I looked at the water and imagined it swirling in the opposite directions the air that held me up. It did flawlessly.
We had been working for several hours the sun was now setting and twilight set upon us. As I drifted away from the center of the lake and towards where Katrina was standing up from the ground.

“We know that water and air are your fortes” Katrina said as I landed in front of her “Now we will try my favorite. Fire.” She snapped her finger and her thumb light on fire. I watched in amazement as it spread up her arm then over her torso it didn’t burn her clothes. Soon her body was engulfed in flames

“Wow” I said letting my cooled skin drift into the flames I imagined a circular ball of fire in my hand when I pulled away it sat perfectly suspended in my hand. Suddenly I heard a twig crack over my left shoulder I spun and flicked my wrist sending the fire flying threw the air. I gasped when it hit Edward square in the face. I gasped and ran towards him

“Nice hello baby” he chuckled wiping his face of ash

“Are you ok?” I said in an overly panicky tone while inspecting his face for blemishes or burns.

“Baby I’m fine” he murmured kissing my palm and taking my hands in his

I sighed and mumbled “Sorry” before planting my lip on his

“SO do you feel loved or do you love me?” he asked one of his thumbs running over my blonde eyebrows

“What?” I asked confused

He pecked my lips and chuckled “Your eyes are hot pink” he said before pecking my lips again

“Both” I mumbled angry he could now read me so easily

“After a century or so they wont even change promise” Katrina said somewhere behind me. I turned and watched in amazement as she made a little tree grow into a large oak. She smirked at my face “centuries of practice” was all she said

I shook my head and my stomach growled “Hungry?” Edward asked his eyebrow raised and my favorite crooked grin on his lips

“Maybe” I said looking down

“Go hunt it will be a good experience for you and it will give you what you need in blood for several months. Elk is my favorite see if you can try some” Katrina said before she took off threw the forest

“She is way to fast” Edward chuckled

“I’m just as fast” I said taking off threw the forest not running full speed of course. I sniffed the air and caught something that was somewhat tangy and earthy it wasn’t the best scent I had ever smelt, but it was appealing. I ran towards it and came upon a herd of deer. Before I could attack though something else caught my attention. It was tangy but sweet scented and it seemed almost stronger than the deer I followed the scent and it lead me to a large grey wolf.

Edward came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me “try the deer first less of a fight darling” he pleaded I simply shook my head and got down into a silent crouch. I read his thoughts he was afraid I would be hurt

“I’ll be fine” I murmured before launching forward I pinned the wolf. It scratched and bit my flesh causing deep gashes that immediately began healing. I snapped its neck and drank from it. The wolf tasted much like wine to me a sweet fruity red wine. I pulled back and licked my lips. I saw Edward and killed another wolf while I had been feeding he grimaced.

“Taste like wine to me. What did it taste like to you?” I asked curious to his grimaced. I frowned at my ruined blood soaked clothes.

“Garbage” He said while spitting out remaining blood “He was going to attack you for attacking his mate” he said gesturing to the wolf

I swallowed guilt washing over me. A tiny twig snapped I turned my head and saw a tiny white wolf pup stumble out of a bush. I gasped and flew to it I swiped the little pup up and cradled her close to me. “I’m so sorry” I whispered to the pup she looked up at me with one big brown eye and the other was blue. “I can’t leave her” I said to Edward scratching her belly

“I know” he sighed “Let’s get back” He said pulling me away from the two dead wolf. The little pup I cradled in my arms looked no more than 3 weeks old

“We’ll need to hand feed her maybe even bottle her” I murmured as we reached the gates. We walked inside and easily ran undetected to the front entrance of the voluri. I scratched the tiny puppy under her chin she nipped at my finger I hissed slightly from the slit pain “Bad girl” I growled “no bite do you hear mommy? No biting” I growled. The little pup liked my finger and I scratched her again “Good girl” I murmured as we walked into the waiting room.

“Love, you may not be able to keep her” Edward said wrapping his arm around my waist as we walked by the secretary’s desk

“Wait” I popped in front of the secretary she jumped slightly. I blushed and said softly “Sorry” I cleared my throat before saying “Will you find out a bit of information for me?” the woman nodded hesitantly I smiled brightly and said “Thank you. I found her” I gestured to the little pup “she looks about 2 or 3 weeks I will need to bottle feed her will you find all the info and supplies for me please”

The woman gaped at me before shaking her head and saying “yes ma’am I’ll get it as quickly as possible”

“Thanks call me Serena” I walked back to Edward and said “Now why couldn’t I keep her she is a runt as is she won’t be much bigger than a dog”

“How do you know this?” he asked shaking his head he wrapped his arm around me and we walked back to the large circular room we had first seen.

“Because since I was little I have had this weird obsession with wolves and big cats. They were so beautiful and powerful. I’ve always been drawn to them” I shrugged codling the little fluff ball in my arms.

I heard a squeal I looked up and saw Alice bounding towards us “SHE IS SO CUTE!!!” she squealed

“She really is” Rose said petting the pup softly the pup made and almost purring noise in her throat

“What shall we name her hmm” Alice said kissing her head and handing her back to me

“I was thinking Lupa it is female wolf in Italian I heard the secretary think it when I asked about the pup we could call her Lulu for short” I said looking into the pup’s multi colored eyes “DO you like the name Lulu?” she yipped “Lulu it is”

I heard a laugh and then Katrina’s voice say “I send you out for a hunt and you bring back a pup this isn’t good Serena we cant bring in every kill darling” she walked over and looked deep into Lulu’s eyes before petting her softly “She is beautiful she murmured

“Katrina” Marcus hissed appearing out of his seat and by her side “You aren’t supposed to be seen in the court” I could hear the fear under the false anger

“I simply came to collect Serena for dinner” she murmured taking my arm and leading me out of the room. Lulu darted around at my heels liking my legs as we walked I giggled at her as Katrina smiled then frowned taking in my clothes “I’m guessing you killed her mother” she questioned no doubt smelling the blood on me along with my own

I picked Lulu up and she affectionately licked my face surprisingly she hadn’t tried biting again “I couldn’t leave her” I said solemnly

“My first adoption was a little lynx his name was Nix” she said looking down at the tiny fluff in my hands “We should get you changed after dinner and we can work more on controlling your eyes”

“Ok” I said kissing Lulu’s nose and setting her down just as we entered the little kitchen I smelled pasta and my tummy growled “I’m hungry” I said as I sat on the stool

“That’s surprising seeing as you just fed” Katrina said with a smile and shaking her head

I smiled sheepishly as Katrina set a large bowl of pasta in front of me “Thanks” I mumbled picking up the fork she had given me

I watched as Katrina placed a piece of steak in a blender and blended it to a puree. I smiled as she set it down next to me “For Lil’ Lulu” she said gesturing to the puppy running around my feet. I nodded as I slurped up the end of my pasta. Katrina shook heard head and sat on the counter as I picked up Lulu.

“Lu no biting” I said looking into her eyes I scooped out some of the gunk and touched her nose letting her smell it. She licked her nose and dropped her jaw wide. I scooped out about a third of the bowl and shimmied into her mouth. She swallowed and reopened her mouth. We did this three most time. I knew I was supposed to clean her up after her meal, so I went to the sink and was my hands then wet a soft wash cloth. I cleaned up Lulu and made sure no more junky meat was stuck in her snow white fur. Just as I threw the washcloth into the sink Katrina hopped off the counter. I cradled Lulu in my arms and walked over to Katrina

“So” Katrina said petting the pup softly “Will you keep her?”

“Yes” I said affirmatively

“Will she hunt or are you going to dog food her?” She said looking up at me

“I couldn’t take away her instincts it seems to wrong I may let her live at Edward’s home if they will let me and take her hunting on our own once or twice a week instead of completely domesticating her” I said looking at the puppy’s multi colored eyes

“We will need to teach you to transform then wont we” Katrina smirked
