Happily Never After Could Happen to Us

Visions and Promises

Rosie

“Alright you two little half vampires,” David laughed as he moved from his perch to stand in front of us. I still couldn’t get over the fact that he was a moving gargoyle. “This is your last class in being a master assassin, and all you have to do is learn to control your powers.”

“Uh huh so what do we do,” I questioned. I was ready to bail on this mission and go find Michael before something terrible happened to him. I still couldn’t believe that some guy dragged him off.

“Close your eyes,” David instructed.

“I went through this with Victor,” I answered as I did as I was told.

“It’s not the same thing. Do you see flashing lights?”

“Um, if you mean those weird looking red and blue dots that I’ve never noticed before then yes,” Leo answered.

“I just see red ones,” I complained.

“That’s because Leo is the past, and you are the future. Leo can see what has happened at any given moment, even at the present with the right concentration. You, however, can only see what is going to happen in the future. No matter how hard you concentrate,” David explained.

“That’s not fair,” I half hissed under my breath.

“You want to trade,” Leo laughed.

“Is that possible,” I asked as I peaked through my eyes.

“Concentrate,” David barked.

I closed my eyes as the red dots flashed off and on. They were starting to make my head ache when suddenly they started to make shapes. I was back in the girl’s body a tall girl with pale skin was running ahead of me. The girl had jet black hair, and when she turned to look at me I could see her warm chocolate eyes. Suddenly her eyes turned to the same shade as her hair and a dark red ring appeared around the edges of them. She looked absolutely terrifying, but what was worse was that she lunged at me.

I felt myself scream as I covered my face, but when I uncovered my face I realized that someone had been following us and was about to rip me apart. When I turned to see who it was I realized I was in Leo’s arms and the girl was tearing at whatever had been about to pounce on me with fangs and claws shredding skin. It was a sickening sight, but I couldn’t help but to feel relief as I watched in awe of the girl.

Soon the red dots came back to me and I opened my eyes. Leo had a distraught look on his face, and I couldn’t help but to wonder what he had seen. I was afraid to ask, but I couldn’t help it. I needed to know if he knew about Michael; and if he knew that it was real.

“So, did you guys have nice visions,” David asked sweetly.

“Um, not really,” I answered through chattering teeth. I was still freezing from the coolness of the room in my vision.

“Why didn’t you tell me,” Leo asked in a calm tone. He sounded exactly like Kegan.

“Tell you what,” I asked innocently.

“That he was taken,” Leo hissed.

“Why didn’t you tell me you fell in love with a slave,” I hissed back. His eyes went wide as I glared at him.

“I’m not in love. You had no right keeping Michael’s abduction from me,” he stated again in that quiet calm tone.

“It just happened, and I was hoping for a vision to find him.”

“He’s with the slave!”

David moved to be more in between us. He looked back and forth between us. “Is this Michael a secret being,” he questioned. Leo and I remained silent.

“Is this slave a human,” he asked in a harsher tone. Both Leo and I continued our silence.

“The human isn’t nearly as bad as the werewolf,” David hissed as he climbed back onto the edge.

“Wait the what,” I questioned with shock seeping through my pores.

“Michael is a half breed of the worst kind. Did you not know that his kind is banned from existence?

“What are you talking about,” Leo asked in a worried tone.

“Your father is sending a team after your friend because he is a werewolf vampire half breed. Have you not noticed the vampires’ tempers; if you mix that with the blood of a werewolf in a teenaged boy what do you expect to come of it,” David explained harshly as his eyes roamed the landscape.

“How did he find out,” Leo barked at David.

“I told him what I saw, not to mention that Victor had him locked up until last night when someone pried the bars loose and took him from the dungeons,” David insisted. It took everything in me to hold Leo back from pushing David over the ledge of the roof.

“No one is going to hurt him, Leo. I promise I will find him, and he will be safe,” I said to Leo, but vowed to my heart. Michael would be fine, and his captors will be killed.
