But When Your Mummy Dies, She Will Not Return

Chapter 5

I looked down at the ground, well, really my belly, I sighed.

"Wha' is it, Har?" Tom asked. He would make this so much easier to tell him if he wouldn't talk.

"Uh, I have big news," I mumbled. He smiled, rapping his arms around my waist. I shoved him away lightly.

"Wha's wrong, Harley?" His voice was filled with concern. I took in a long breath, letting it out slowly.

"Uh, my... my parents," I looked up at him, his eye brows furrowed. I sighed once more, before going at it. "My parents want to go back home." I said it quickly, but I knew he heard it.

His eyes went wide, as he turned around. He started to pace, around and around in his room. I really wished he wouldn't. It made this so much more harder.

"Wha'... Why... How," he stopped, and looked at me. "When?" I rubber my eyes.

"The third," I mumbled. He counted on his fingers, looking up at me once again.

"That's eight weeks before the babeh's due though," he mumbled, dropping on his bed. I rubbed his back, as he placed his head in his hands. "But I wanna be there fer him. " I nodded, hugging him. He turned his head, placing a small kiss on my forehead, before laying his head on my shoulder.

"I know, baby, I know," I whispered.

"Happy birthday, Andy," my mom yelled, opening the door. He smiled and thanking her. Dad smiled at him, as Andy came in, walking to a chair, and climbing up it. "How are you, Harley?" Mom asked, as we walked into kitchen.

"Oh, lovely," I grumbled. She looked at me, as she continued to frost the cake. I set down Andy's presents. "I ran into Oliver a few days ago. He said that I should call Tom." She frowned.

"Oliver is just being a bas - "

"Who's Oliver, Mommy?" Andy asked. I turned and looked at him, his jacket long gone by now, encluding his hat and mittins.

"No one sweetie," I mumbled.

"Oh Harley, he should know." I shook my head, but she went on telling him. "Oliver is your father's brother."

Andy's face lit up, as his eyes sparkled.

"Daddy's here?" he asked. I shrugged, smoothing out the frosting.

"I don't know," I mumbled. Mom nudged me, looking me in the eye. "Okay, yes, yes he's here. Are you happy now, Mom?" She smiled at me, nodding her head.

"Is he coming over here?" he asked. I sighed.

"Can't you just call Matt? At lease let him come." I groaned, and sighed.

"We'll see what I can do, little man," I mumbled, as he let out a scream, running around.
