Addicting Emotions

Evelyn’s POV

Two days after we got back from Italy and I had gotten over how angry I was with Jasper. We were hanging out at their house again and school was back to normal, them coming in for the spring term. All was good except for one small thing.
I had noticed that Bella was a little off, she was subdued at the Cullens house and at school and it was starting to worry me, not that I wasn’t still in my sitting on my porch swing faze but now Jasper joined me. After watching her for a day I pulled her aside on the way to lunch and I waved the others to go in.
Taking her by the arm I pulled her into the girl’s bathroom and after checking each stall I turned to her and asked
“What’s going on?” Bella looked at me confused and asked
“what do you mean?” I sighed and leaning against a sink I said
“you have been acting different ever since Edward got back, what is going on with you I thought you wanted him back?” I couldn’t help but ask and Bella stared at the ground before her face fell and she looked at me in desperation
“oh Eve I don’t know what to do I have these feelings for Jacob that are more than friend but I love Edward, I can’t decide what to do” I sighed and went and hugged her, after a pause I said
“you have to choose between them honey” Bella pulled away and said
“that’s the thing, even if I do choose, I can’t stay friends with the other because of the feelings and plus the two are natural enemies and can’t stand each other!” I nodded and looking at Bella I asked
“what do you feel when you look at Edward?” Bella smiled and replied immediately
“love, safe, like nothing in the world could tear us apart” I nodded and then asked
“and what do you feel when you look at Jacob?” she took longer to answer before she said
“excitement, thrilled and like I’m walking on the edge” I laughed and said
“Bella it’s the typical bad boy feeling, you only feel that way for Jacob because of the danger he gives off and the thrill is of being with something that could kill you, like you felt when you first met Edward” Bella nodded before she said hesitantly
“so I don’t like Jacob?” I giggled and said
“what you feel is the feeling that a rabbit gets when it’s looking into the eyes of a car” Bella and I both laughed at my analogy.
After we were finished I looked at Bella and said
“you have to tell Jacob you can’t be with him, I’ve seen the way the boy looks at you Bella” she nodded
“yeah I need to tell him, I just don’t want to hurt him” I smiled softly
“it will hurt him more in the long run Bella so just do it soon, I’ll go with you after school if you want?” she nodded and we exited the bathroom in time for class.
In Advanced Chemistry Jasper sat next to me and asked
“so what did you and Bella do?” I smiled at him and shrugged
“Girl talk” he looked at me suspiciously but shrugged and we paid attention to the rest of the class.
Eventually school finished and I hugged Jasper good bye and he said he would call me later then we separated as I walked over to where Bella was sat in her truck. I knocked on the window and she lent over and opened the door for me so I hopped in and said with a smile
“lets get to it!” she nodded and started the truck and we headed out of there towards the Reservation.
We pulled up outside of Jacob’s house and sat there a moment, I watched Bella’s face as she looked at the house before she looked at me and I said
“take a deep breath, its fine, explain and all should be well” Bella nodded and we climbed out of the car.
Jacob having apparently heard Bella’s truck came striding out of the front door and jogged towards us. He smiled at Bella and gave me a frosty nod as he stepped forwards and hugged her.
“Hey Bella, what are you doing here?” he seemed to hold the hug for longer than necessary and I looked pointedly at Bella who nodded and pulled out of the hug. Stepping back slightly she fidgeted with her fingers as she started
“Jacob you know how much I value your friendship, I’m so grateful to you for these past weeks” Jacob grinned at her and went to hug her again and I watched as she moved back making him frown and continued “I really appreciate it but I love Edward, more than anything and I just wanted to tell you before this went any further” I watched as Jacob’s grin dropped completely as he stared at Bella in astonishment
“you still love him?! After everything he put you through with James and then the Volturi?!” Bella shrugged and Jacob started shaking. I stepped back as he snarled “I can’t believe you choose a blood sucker over me! I love you” he kept shaking as Bella stepped towards him and said
“I love you too Jacob but as a friend not in a romantic sense” Jacob grimaced and asked
“so these past weeks were what? A distraction?” Bella didn’t answer and his shaking increased so much I thought he would convulse and Bella noticed as well as she asked tentatively
“Jacob?” Jacob’s head shot up and he glared at her before he suddenly shed himself and became a wolf. I gasped and Bella held up her hands saying
“Jacob calm down!” the wolf roared and lashed out at her raking deep furrows into her arm. Bella cried out in pain as I shouted
“Bella!” the wolf turned to me and I gazed deep in its eyes and using all the strength of my ability I said
“leave” and he gave one last look to Bella before he ran off into the woods.
I rushed to Bella’s side where she had dropped to the ground, falling to my knees I looked at her arm which was gushing blood. I stared at it in horror as Bella cried out in pain. The artery had been split open and blood was just rushing out in torrents. I pulled off my jumper and wrapped it around her arm before I pulled her to her feet and as we walked to the car I assured her
“it’s OK Bella I’m going to get you to Carlisle and you’ll be fixed right up” Bella just whimpered and I opened the passenger door and pushed her in before I raced around to the other side and hopped in the driver’s seat and started the engine before I pressed the gas pedal as far as it would go and I sped towards the treaty line.
I could see figures in the distance and I knew that they must have smelled Bella’s blood in the air.
I pulled to a stop right in front of them and the door on Bella’s side was quickly thrown open as Edward grabbed her and then disappeared, I figured he had raced to the house with her so Carlisle could look at her. Jasper was at my side quickly as well and I fell into his arms crying and he shushed me and told me that Bella would be fine and I let myself believe him.
Jasper then picks me up and I bury my face in his shoulder as he races home as well. We entered the dining room to find Bella laid on the table and Edward and Carlisle talk over her
“what do you mean I have to change her?! Can’t you sow her up?” Edward shouted frantically and Carlisle shook his head. Edward groaned and grabbed his hair in frustration. Jasper put me on my feet and I walked over to Edward and said quietly
“she would want to be turned Edward” Edward looked up at me with anguish in his eyes and asked raggedly
“how do I stop?” I shrugged
“think of what your life would be like without her if you don’t” Edward stared at me a moment before he nodded and turning towards Bella he bent over her while I moved back into Jasper’s arms and waited for them to finish.
Bella was put in Edward’s room for now on their bed and Carlisle had attached a drip of Morphine to her to try and weaken the pain of the conversion.
I had been drooping with weariness and Jasper decided it was time for me to go home and he promised to stay the night with me which my mom allowed having gotten over the shock of my just leaving to Italy to get him, she figured if I would go through all that trouble then him spending the night couldn’t hurt and so I fell asleep with his coldness beside me.
