Addicting Emotions

Evelyn’s POV
Mom finally came downstairs dressed in a flowing skirt, a blouse and a pair of heels, she had her hair done up nicely and she had even coated on some make up which she hardly ever does at the moment.
She stood in front of me and smoothed out her skirt nervously
“OK, so what do you think?” I grinned
“you look great mom but you do know we are only going to a friends house right?” mom blushed and said
“well Bella’s dad will be there” I nodded not getting it for a moment before it hit me and I just stared at my mom
“You are dressed up for Charlie? You like him” mom’s blush deepened to a lovely rose color, no blusher needed now
“well… I… he’s a lovely man, I’ve met him a few times at the hospital when he comes to reception” I nodded and stood up and hugged her
“I think it’s great that you like him mom, hope it goes well” mom pulled back and smiled at me
“so do I know lets go” mom grabbed her car keys and we headed out to the car and she started it up, we lived on the opposite side of town to them, while it’s not actually far we still decided to drive.

Bella’s POV
I came home and told dad that Evelyn and her mom would be coming for dinner and dad went, well he is acting weird
“does my hair look good Bella?” I sighed, this was the 4th time he had asked me
“yes dad, it’s fine do you wanna tell me what’s up now?” Charlie sighed and said
“well I’ve met Evelyn’s mother a few times at the hospital and I think she’s really… nice” he ended and I raised a brow
“um dad do you… like her?” I asked and Charlie fidgeted nervously making me chuckle “you do like her!” I accused jokingly and Charlie smiled slightly as he chuckled
“yeah I do so I need to look good in order to impress her” I rolled my eyes
“dad she’s seen you in uniform and stuff, I don’t think she will care” Charlie looked at me and went to say something but the doorbell rang, he gave me a panicked look which made me smile as I went to answer the door

Evelyn’s POV
We arrived and went to the door, I rang the bell and a moment later Bella opened the door looking a little hassled and I guessed that Charlie had been as bad as my mom, I giggled and Bella rolled her eyes with a grin
“come in guys, dad’s in the kitchen if you wanna go talk to him” we walked in and mom went to the kitchen right away.
I looked at Bella and we both started laughing, when we had calmed down we started talking
“my mom was so nervous on the way here” Bella nodded and replied
“yeah so was Dad, he asked me about his hair like 4 times so I knew something was up and he said that he liked your mom” I nodded
“yeah it was about the same with my mom, I wonder if they will get together, it would be cool, my mom needs someone” Bella nodded
“yeah so does my dad, mom’s got re married and I think it’s about time that my dad did as well, what about your dad?” I coughed lightly and swallowed a little
“umm well I don’t think he’s seeing anyone, I haven’t talked to him since we left” Bella nodded and thankfully dropped the subject
Mom walked out of the kitchen with a smile on her face and said
“come on girls we have dinner on the table for you and I think it’s pretty good for a microwave meal” I laughed and followed her into the kitchen where a small table sat with 4 plates, Charlie already seated with a beer in his hand.
I sat down as did Bella and my mom and we all started eating, it was pretty good and mom and Charlie kept up a steady flow on conversation and occasional flirting which was actually quite funny because they were like 13 year old's in the way they were doing it and Charlie kept blushing and my mom was giggling, I hadn’t seen her like this in a few years.
Eventually we finished eating and Bella and I exchanged looks before she said
“well Eve and I will be up in my room, I need her help with some homework” the parents just nodded and we headed up the stairs quickly so we could leave them to talk.
We got to Bella’s room and collapsed on the bed grinning
“that was so awkward!” Bella exclaimed and I giggled
“yeah I think they forgot they are adults” Bella laughed
“yeah well from what everyone told me when I first moved here, he hasn’t had a date in 14 years” I whistled
“damn that’s a long time” Bella nodded and replied
“well I think he was still hung up on my mom a bit but your mom seems to be changing his mind pretty rapidly” I nodded and asked
“so how long have you and Edward been together?”
“about a year”
“how did you meet?” Bella laughed
“at school, it took a while for us to talk and after I got here he had to um leave for a while and then well when he came back that’s when we started talking, we became friends and then we told each other our feelings” I nodded
“that sounds good, you guys are good together” Bella smiled
“thank you, a lot of the girls at school think he’s stuck up” I grinned
“no Bella that is them being jealous, Edward’s hot and well they all wanted to be his girlfriend I’m guessing” Bella laughed and teased
“well are you one of those girls?” I scrunched my face up
“err no, while he is good looking, one he is taken and two I swear he knows what I’m thinking most of the time, that would just annoy me” Bella really started laughing then, great big roll on the ground laughs and I was asking
“what? What did I say? Come on it is not that funny!” Bella tried to catch her breath as she finished laughing
“ha ha no it’s not that, it’s just oh never mind I don’t think I could explain it very well” I nodded and said
“well can you tell him to stop, really I think he’s great but if he does it again I will be forced to start wearing one of those foil hats crazy people wear” Bella giggled and said
“I think you would start a new fashion” we both just laughed and then started talking about other things from school to the Cullen’s to some other things.
After about 2 hours we were both pretty tired and I was yawning about every 5 minutes when I decided I wanted to go home. I got up and stretched a little popping some bones into place, Bella winced a little and buried her head in her pillow
“I’m gonna go tell mom we need to go” Bella nodded and dragged herself from the bed and we both headed down the stairs.
When we reached the bottom I didn’t immediately register it but when my eyes focused enough I saw mom and Charlie on the couch in the sitting room, lip locked. I stopped dead in the door and Bella came saying
“why are you just standing… oh!” she said it rather loudly and our parents broke apart, mom stood up and brushed her skirt out in a nervous gesture again. Bella and I were just gaping at them and mom said in a slightly un steady voice
“right well we need to go, it’s late” Charlie nodded and stood up, we all walked to the door and Charlie kissed my mom good bye, I looked at Bella wide eyed and she gave me the same look before the door closed and we were heading to the car.
The ride home was quiet until we got in and mom locked the door, she turned to me, crossed her arms and said
“well what do you think” I opened my mouth and just said
“I’m a little shocked, I feel like a parent walking in on their kids first time” mom grimaced
“crudely put but effective, do you like him though?” I grinned
“oh yeah Charlie’s cool, I definitely think you two should see each other again” mom nodded and kissed my cheek
“thank you now go to bed, you look shattered” I laughed
“I feel it, see you in the morning”
“good night”
wow, mom and Charlie, if it goes well Bella could be my sister
